The Jewish Library of Baltimore, a program of The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking a part-time Library Clerk.
 The part-time Library Clerk serves as the first point of contact for patrons of the Jewish Library of Baltimore (JLB) and provides support in delivering library services to the community. As the JLB is a dual-language library with materials in both English and Hebrew, applicants should possess sufficient familiarity with the Hebrew language to assist patrons in locating and using library materials. Candidates should also have knowledge of Jewish history, culture, traditions, holidays, and religious practices sufficient to help patrons identify and access relevant resources. The position requires an understanding of the Dewey Decimal Classification System, including the ability to organize, shelve, and retrieve materials accurately, as well as experience using online library catalogs and databases to search for materials and assist patrons with their information needs.  This is a part-time position; 15 hours per week in person. Sunday 10:00am-3:00pm, Tuesday 3:00pm-8:00pm and Friday 10:00am-3:00pm.
 
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Staff the circulation desk, creating and managing patron library accounts, assuming responsibility for telephone and email correspondence with library patrons; as well as registering patrons for library programs.</li>

 Manage, monitor, and operate all heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) and mechanical equipment within assigned building(s). Provides direction and oversight to lower level employees and assigned contractors operating in assigned building(s).
 
 
 
 Essential Functions
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Operates and maintains a variety of HVAC and Mechanical systems to include but not limited to, low pressure and high pressure, steam, and hot water boilers, air handler units, variable refrigerant flow systems, variable air volume systems, pneumatic compressors and controls, fuel oil tanks, and related equipment, domestic hot water, generator, various types of chillers, various types of pumps, various types of unit ventilators, hydronic systems, and more.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs inspections, preventative maintenance and minor repairs on various HVAC and mechanical equipment. To include but not limited to filter changes, belt maintenance, oiling and lubrication of motors and bearings, coil cleaning, drain maintenance, punching of boiler and chiller tubes, air compressor maintenance, inspection of pressure vessels, inspection of safety valves and controls, and more.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge and experience with building automation controls and programs. Monitoring and adjustments of temperature and schedule settings.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge and experience with keeping accurate daily logs. Ability to input data into a computerized maintenance management system.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge and experience with sizing of pumps, water flow calculations, heat load calculations, pipe sizing and installation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge and experience with National Electrical Code, National Gas Code, basic to intermediate electrical and plumbing knowledge.
 </li>
 <li>
 Supervise and manage other maintenance and service employees assigned to assist.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage inventory and requisition supplies through supervisor.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain boiler and mechanical rooms, includes sump pump monitoring, lights and ballast replacement, maintaining safety protocol for workspace as prescribed by OSHA regulations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitors and assists in maintaining hydronic system water treatment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage, monitor, and maintain records on assigned building HVAC and mechanical equipment. Report activities to Regional Mechanical Supervisor.

 Must possess and maintain valid second or third-grade stationary engineer's certificate issued by the Maryland State Board of Examining Engineers
 </li>

 Must possess a universal EPA refrigerant certification.
 </li>

 Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Class C driver's license and provide own transportation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to read and understand technical manuals pertaining to operation and maintenance of equipment. Operation and Maintenance Manuals, sequence of operation manuals, specification sheets, and other technical literature.
 </li>

 Ability to assign and review the work of others.
 </li>
 <li>
 Good verbal and written communication skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Must possess basic HVAC hand tools, including but not limited to hand drill, test meters, refrigerant gauge sets, etc.
