Role Overview:
As a Caregiver at Home Helpers, you will be responsible for providing compassionate care and support to clients in their homes. In this role, you&rsquo;ll collaborate closely with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the well-being and comfort of those you serve. The Medication Aide / Tech administers routine medications and documents administration per policy while supporting resident care and reporting concerns to nursing leadership.

 Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Verify ID of resident prior to medication administration</li>
<li>Administer medications per physician order and document it was given.</li>
<li>Report to Team Leader any errors, refusal or reactions to medications immediately.</li>
<li>Report to Team Leader and complete medication error incident report when there is an error in the administration of medications.</li>
<li>Ensure medications are properly labeled and stored according to medication instructions.</li>
<li>Ensure medications are reordered when necessary and destroyed as indicated.</li>
<li>Complete proper medication destruction. Narcotics should be destroyed with Med Tech and LPN/RN witnessed and cosigned. Non narcotics should be destroyed by Med Tech or LPN</li>
<li>Report any complaints or grievances made by residents to the Team Leader.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in care plan meetings as necessary.</li>
<li>Accurately and sagely prepare, administer, and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this Community and that may be ordered for resident use by the physician or the Medical Director.</li>
<li>Perform as Caregiver/CNA when not passing medications.</li>
<li>Ensure that an adequate supply of floor medications is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Reorder as needed.</li>
<li>Report needs for supplies and/or equipment to Resident Care Coordinator.</li>
<li>Complete Ovation, Relias and Inservice training as required by Ovation and State Law.</li>
