Job Title: Case Manager - Supportive Housing 
Reports to: Program Manager

Overview:

The Case Manager will work with families who have transitioned from emergency assistance to a pathway to permanent housing by providing stabilization across a two-year program. Working within a team approach to monitor and support efforts of program participants to obtain community resources and services, improve living skills and gain permanent housing. 


Responsibilities:
<ul><li>
Using Motivational Interviewing and a collaborative approach conduct in-depth assessment to best determine the immediate client concerns and/or barriers to housing including, but not limited to: financial, legal, mental health, substance abuse, employment, health care and housekeeping;</li><li>
In collaboration with heads of households, develop individual service plans (ISP) which include educational, vocational, medical, life skills and housing goals. Meet with families in temporary housing provided by Heading Home, weekly to review ISP progress and plan next steps;</li><li>
Obtain resources and services as requested and/or needed to address barriers to housing</li><li>
Provide support and stabilization services to ensure families stay on track for meeting program goals</li><li>
Develop partnerships and collaborative relationships with internal and external service providers to ensure client receives comprehensive services;</li><li>
Assist client with move-in transition supports including but not limited to; furniture and furnishings assistance, budget support, and other resources and services as needed;</li><li>
Develop and implement a housing intake/history with homeless clients;</li><li>
Document all interactions with clients utilizing appropriate reporting mechanisms, including web-based data collection systems;</li><li>
Monitor units for cleanliness, or property damage and address with client as needed;</li><li>
Participates in individual and group supervision as assigned</li><li>

The Part-time Lecturer will review and learn key teaching points within existing materials, prepare and deliver lectures based on provided course content, and facilitate in-person or online class discussions that encourage active learning and respectful debate. They will guide students through case studies and real-world examples in regulatory approval, provide timely feedback, grading, and coaching to support student learning, and maintain consistent engagement with students regarding their performance and progress. In addition, the instructor will adhere to Northeastern University policies and program standards.
Part-time instructors work under the direction of the program director and will hold office hours as appropriate.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree in a closely related field, with at least five years of work experience in biotechnology, biopharma, or a related industry. Proven presentation and instructional platform skills are required, along with an open and supportive professional style and willingness to receive assistance and coaching from faculty when needed.
Prior experience in a diverse higher education institution is preferred.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
The Guest Services Specialist (GSS) works from the Pine Street Inn policy and procedures developed to ensure a safe shelter environment for guests and staff. The Guest Services Specialist has a primary focus on the direct care of guests and, as such, responds to guests in a timely and professional manner based on the prioritization of guests&rsquo; needs. The GSS assists with the development and implementation of a housing pathway by motivating guests to rapidly work on housing and connecting guests to appropriate resources. The Guest Services Specialists will also assist guests in connecting with substance abuse, mental health and medical resources when the shelter cannot safely accommodate a guests needs. The GSS is required to stay energized and focused even when demands are ambiguous and strenuous. The GSS is required to enter data into the Homeless Management Information (HMIS) system and to document reports in keeping with agency policy. The GSS is required to make sound decisions and appropriately seeks guidance from a supervisor.
