Position Summary
The Chief Accountant oversees the hotel&rsquo;s Income Audit, Revenue Assurance, Cost Control, and Inventory Management functions. The role ensures strong internal controls, accurate reporting, compliance with brand and regulatory standards, and seamless collaboration with operational departments. This position directly reports to the Director of Finance.
1. Income Audit &amp; Revenue Assurance<ul><li>
Oversee daily income audit for all revenue streams (Rooms, F&amp;B, other departments, ancillary revenues).</li><li>
Ensure accurate reconciliation between PMS, POS, payment terminals, interfaces, and the general ledger.</li><li>
Review and approve daily revenue reports, control sheets, and summaries before submission to management.</li><li>
Monitor and verify rate codes, packages, promotions, complimentary rooms, house use, staff rates, discounts, rebates, no‑shows, early departures, late charges, PM accounts, routing instructions, and City Ledger transfers.</li><li>
Investigate revenue discrepancies, negative postings, voids, and manual corrections with proper explanations and approvals.</li><li>
Work closely with Front Office, Reservations, and F&amp;B to strengthen controls and minimize revenue leakages.</li><li>
Support compliance with Sun System and brand standards for revenue recognition and classification.</li></ul>
2. Cost Control &amp; Inventory Management<ul><li>
Lead the hotel&rsquo;s F&amp;B and operating cost control function.</li><li>
Oversee receiving, storing, issuing, and stock management for food, beverages, and operating supplies.</li><li>
Review PRs and POs for accuracy, approval compliance, and budget alignment.</li><li>
Ensure accurate recipe costing, portion standards, and menu engineering data with the Executive Chef and F&amp;B Manager.</li><li>
Analyse theoretical vs. actual food and beverage cost variances; propose corrective actions.</li><li>
Coordinate monthly and ad‑hoc inventory counts; validate count sheets and investigate discrepancies.</li><li>
Monitor spoilage, breakage, wastage, and inter‑outlet transfers ensuring proper authorization.</li><li>
Provide cost analysis to support menu pricing, product mix, and promotions.</li></ul>
3. Internal Controls, Compliance &amp; Audit<ul><li>
Design, implement, and maintain internal controls for revenue and cost processes aligned with SOPs and owner/brand standards.</li><li>
Act as finance lead for audit matters related to income audit, F&amp;B controls, and inventory.</li><li>
Coordinate internal/external audits and ensure timely closure of findings.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with local regulations (VAT, taxes on revenue, service charge, discounts) in collaboration with the Financial Controller.</li><li>
Prepare and update SOPs and checklists for income audit, cost control, and F&amp;B controls.</li></ul>
4. Reporting &amp; Analysis<ul><li>
Provide daily, weekly, and monthly analysis on:<ul><li>

6. People Management &amp; Collaboration<ul><li>

Qualifications
