  The Claims Analyst is responsible for processing professional, inpatient, and outpatient facility claims using the knowledge of industry standard practices for processing medical claims. This position will also perform updates based on COB status, eligibility reinstatements, and retro-authorization approvals. This position applies relevant rules and regulations specific to coding, providers, plan benefits, contracts, state, and federal guidelines, as well as Community Health Choices policies and procedures. This is a high-impact role with significant stakeholder visibility and operational travel.</p>

We are seeking a Claims Specialist to join our Corporate Insurance Department at our Houston office. This is a unique opportunity for a claim professional with experience as a claims adjuster or handler to work in an in-house claims handling role.</p><p>
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling subrogation, auto liability, and general liability claims, with exposure to retail and trucking claims strongly preferred.</p><p><b>
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li> Oversight of a TPA caseload of auto liability and general liability claims. Personal Responsibility for subrogation claims handled in-house from initial notice through recovery.</li><li> Coordinate claims Investigation, gather in-house documents, evaluate liability, damages, and reserves. Coordinate employee interviews and reserves/settlement authority with internal business units.</li><li> Work collaboratively with our in-house Insurance Team on claim strategy and risk mitigation.</li><li> Coordinate payment of claims with third-party administrator and help to facilitate a large deductible international insurance program.</li><li> Monitor reserves, document claim activity, and prepare reports for management.</li><li> Assist with identification of loss trends and opportunities for risk mitigation.</li><li> Handling claims and decision making within a corporate, in-house claims role.</li><li> Direct collaboration with legal, risk, and business leadership.</li><li> Growth Opportunity into TPA oversight and claims administration.</li><li> Stable, long-term career path within a corporate setting</li></ul><p><b><br>
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</b></p><p>

The requirements for this position are listed below:</p><ul><li> Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent work experience.</li><li> Minimum 2-5 years of claims handling experience.</li><li> Prior insurance carrier claims department experience preferred.</li><li> Demonstrated experience handling subrogation claims.</li><li> Experience with auto liability and general liability claims strongly preferred.</li><li> Exposure to retail and/or trucking claims is a plus.</li><li> Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills.</li><li> Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments in a face-paced environment.</li></ul><p><b>
