</p><p>The Molecular Microbiology Lab has been offering broad-range detection of bacteria, AFB, and fungi for UW Medicine patients and beyond for more than two decades. Providers from all over the United States send precious specimens to our laboratory. We have a very lively and talented group of MLSs and Clinical Laboratory Technicians (CLTs) who work as a team to deliver timely test results. We stay at the cutting edge of molecular technology as we routinely launch new tests and improve our current ones.
</p><p>The MLS 1 performs laboratory tests, interprets results, and reports results in the laboratory information system, effectively playing a key role in patient care. This role supports other MLSs, faculty, and students and communicates courteously and clearly with hospital and laboratory staff to resolve problems. Additionally, the MLS 1 establishes and maintains a positive attitude toward self, others, and the workplace.
