The Opportunity

As a One Medical Phlebotomist/Front Desk (internally known as Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist) team member at one of our offices you'll provide an exceptional experience for our patients and help them accomplish an important part of their care journey by providing venipuncture as well as other clinical support services. What you'll likely work on:
<ul>
<li>Use impeccable C-I-CARE (a framework containing the key elements of a great interaction and effective communication that we use with patients and each other) in all patient interactions, both clinical and administrative, and ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same day schedule management, appropriate follow up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback and assisting with outreach as necessary</li>
<li>Provide best in class venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, depending on the office location</li>
<li>Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as, but not limited to non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs</li>
<li>Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization</li>
<li>Continue to care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties such as, but not limited to biometric screening forms, medical record and consult review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting</li>
<li>All front of house duties including check in/check out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, tasking to service level expectations etc</li>

RAGtime went into production in May 2026 and today integrates more than 1.6 million primary-source documents&mdash;federal court litigation, the U.S. Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, Office of Legal Counsel opinions, and the documentary history of U.S. foreign relations&mdash;into a single searchable, queryable, and analyzable interface at ragtime.lawfaremedia.org. A beta version launched in June 2026 to Lawfare&rsquo;s roughly 10,000 financial supporters, and the platform is now moving toward wider public release. 
This role is less about traditional software engineering than about the imaginative, rigorous use, expansion, and development of a powerful new research tool. Working closely with Lawfare&rsquo;s editor-in-chief, senior editors, and a community of developers, these fellows sit at the intersection of data analysis, journalism, and innovation to explore what RAGtime makes possible: probing how it engages existing datasets, experimenting with new ones, and developing high-value use cases for journalists, lawyers, researchers, and civil society. It is a role in the spirit of the generalist, conceptually curious&mdash;well-suited to someone excited to think alongside a novel technology and help shape how it is used.

The Publications Associate is expected to be versatile in building on the mission of the Association&rsquo;s publications program and working with staff in other programs in support of that mission. The incumbent reports to the Director of Publications and works across function with others on staff.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 &bull; Completion of a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree, social science background desirable (such as education, sociology, psychology, economics, political science, anthropology).
 
 
 &bull; Strong computer skills, including advance knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience in HTML and social networking strategies strongly preferred, and experience using editing styles such as APA or Chicago also preferred.
 
 
 &bull; Desktop publishing skills. Experience with Photoshop and InDesign preferred.
 
 
 &bull; Dynamic and professional self-starter who is a motivated and organized quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 
 
 &bull; Ability to see and understand the big picture and translate into daily action lists, correspondence, and vigilant follow-up.
 
 
 &bull; Energetic and creative thinker who is engaged and resourceful with a can-do attitude.

 &bull; Experience in publications and a sense of print and digital design and layout.
 
 
 &bull; Experience with writing content for online distribution.
 
 
 &bull; Ability and willingness to travel occasionally and to work outside of business hours when necessary.
