The Clinical Research Coordinator is an entry human subjects researcher, responsible for conducting and assisting in clinical research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or senior clinical research staff. This individual obtains informed consent, collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in the preparation and submission of grant applications and documents (e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office).
This research coordinator will contribute to clinical and translational research on asthma and allergy at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York City). The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary, NIH-funded research team at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine led by physician scientist, Professor Supinda Bunyavanich. 
This full-time position would be a good fit for an individual interested in medicine, laboratory work, and clinical research because it will involve interaction with patients, study participants, and clinical staff; laboratory work at the bench; and hands-on experience with many aspects of clinical research, including multi-center collaborations. Ensures data accuracy through SDR, SDV and CRF review as applicable through on-site and remote monitoring activities. Assess investigational product through physical inventory and records review. Documents observations in reports and letters in a timely manner using approved business writing standards. Escalates observed deficiencies and issues to clinical management expeditiously and follow all issues through to resolution. May need to maintain regular contact between monitoring visits with investigative sites to confirm that the protocol is being followed, that previously identified issues are being resolved and that the data is being recorded in a timely manner. Ensures a shared responsibility with other project team members on issues/findings resolution. <div>Description
The Clinical Research Coordinator assists in the daily activities of clinical research studies, obtains informed consent; collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in preparing grant applications and documents (for e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office). 
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Collects and records study data. Inputs all information into database.</li><li>
Obtains informed consent under minimal supervision of the investigator(s) and educates participants regarding study requirements.</li><li>
Assists in the activities related to clinical research studies including but not limited to: answering phone calls, screening participants for eligibility, registering subjects with sponsoring agency, administering lifestyle questionnaires.</li><li>
Assists in preparing grant applications, IRB/GCO for submission and filings.</li><li>
Maintains source documents and subject files in accordance with hospital procedures. Ensures accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews.</li><li>
Secures, delivers and ships clinical specimens as required by the protocol.</li><li>
Prepares for monitoring visits.</li><li>
Performs other related duties.</li></ul> 

Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelors or Masters degree in Science or closely related field.</li><li>
No experience required. One year of research experience preferred.</li></ul>
