This Designer will utilize their skills to support the corrugated converting operation at one of the fastest growing corrugated manufacturers in the U.S! The Designer will work collaboratively with sales, operations, and customers to create packaging designs, prototypes, and samples.
Designer<ul><li>
Create mock-ups/samples for customer approval and validation including providing layouts for CAD lines and print positioning as required.</li><li>
Approve cutting dies and generate corresponding mylars for production.</li><li>
Maintain supplies as needed for job functions: mock-ups, mylars, samples, etc.</li><li>
Design all forms of POP displays, graphic packaging, and industrial packaging.</li><li>
Develop distribution and in-store setup instruction sheets for displays and retail packaging to support client education.</li><li>
Initiate actions to prevent problems and contribute solutions when a problem is identified as well as document quality problems, verify implementation of solutions, and control further processing.</li><li>
Understand and interpret documents such as packaging design specifications, operating instructions including training and procedure manuals.</li><li>
Maintain process of recording, specifications, and revisions to provide accuracy.</li><li>
Accompany Sales and creative teams on design-related meetings and presentations as needed.</li><li>
Ensure design specialties and creative execution meet manufacturing specifications and budgets.</li></ul>
EXPERIENCE<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Graphics, Packaging Science, Industrial Design or equivalent design work experience</li><li>

The Graphic Designer plays an important role in helping Acosta&rsquo;s Connected Commerce team build and design informative and attractive visual communications and creative assets with clear objectives for its audience. They work with internal and external teams to provide creative support on key clients&rsquo; business and marketing campaigns with visually stunning documents that promote Acosta clients at retail. This is achieved through strong graphic design execution using Adobe Creative Suite, as well as strategic storytelling to make presentations useful, relevant and eye-catching. Skills in graphic design, business communications, project management, and creative marketing are necessary for success in this job.
The ideal candidate should be:
Technically savvy and a creative professional: Understands the importance of Acosta&rsquo;s clients, possess marketing skills, and can use a variety of creative and technical skills to create stunning campaigns that are on-brand and effectively sell clients&rsquo; product. Should have experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) and the ability to apply design fundamentals across formats: digital &amp; print.
Able to convey/sell a message: Will ensure our clients&rsquo; brands show up visually consistent and the message matches the campaign objectives, values, mission and goals. Creates designs that complement our clients&rsquo; style guides and gets the intended message across with uniform content, visual elements and purpose.
Responsible for developing creative shopper marketing campaigns, and other communications, customized to the client or customers&rsquo; needs. This person will be expected to engage in meetings and needs assessments with both to ensure the end product is in line with expectations and drive the business results. 
Organizes and participates in brainstorming sessions by contributing/generating ideas/concepts to meet existing and new clients&rsquo; objectives and strategies. 
Manages multiple projects/demands simultaneously with quality execution and on time delivery. 
Supports the Request for Proposal process in developing creative new business campaigns. 
Interfaces with current and potential clients advising on Acosta&rsquo;s products and services 
Works with internal channel and team leaders making recommendations on the marketing and positioning of Acosta&rsquo;s product and service offering. 
Manage timelines and milestones from beginning to end including strong organizational and time management skills 
Become a visual storyteller, and thrive using a variety of multimedia platforms to showcase services and capabilities, to sell our clients&rsquo; brands and promote the company as the provider of choice 
Consistently uphold brand and style guidelines and communicate, and potentially teach, these standards to others internally 
Manages content storage and distribution of important Acosta and client documents including (but not limited to): RFPs, RFIs, presentations, templates, logos, branding guidelines, communication deliverables (internal/external).

Work Experience Requirements:<ul><li>

 Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine a as Human Centered Design Associate. 
This position will be a two-year appointment to develop a human centered design (HCD) core for HDSI at the University of Chicago Medicine, to be leveraged by clinical and operational leaders as well as scholars to help solve high priority healthcare delivery challenges through the application of a variety of design methods. Health system-relevant design methods include contextual inquiry, co-design, service design and rapid prototyping and piloting. Individuals with knowledge, interest, and experience in healthcare processes and systems (co)design, healthcare communication and education, transitions of care, direct observation, interviewing and surveying, healthcare organization design, health equity, population health and applied implementation science are encouraged to apply. Individuals with diverse models for exploration and solution generation, such as contextual inquiry, co-design, experience design and rapid prototyping and pilot testing. 
This position will support practice improvement and healthcare delivery science across the healthcare system. The position will require collaboration with a wide range of clinician types, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers, as well as administrators, scholars, information technologists, equipment/device vendors, patients and caregivers, and other stakeholders engaged in the design and implementation of innovative clinical processes and systems of care. 
The ideal candidate will have a track record to work both independently and collaboratively with excellent interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills, with an interest in publishing and making presentations. This position would be ideal for an early to mid-stage designer with ability to set creative and strategic direction across a variety of challenges and who is excited to develop capacity for design services and build a program at a world-renowned academic healthcare system. The position will be mentored by a professor at Illinois Technology&rsquo;s Institute of Design.
