The Job</b></div><div><br>
 Eckert &amp; Ziegler Analytics seeks a <b>Radiochemist I</b><b> or II </b>who will manufacture radioactive calibration standards, check sources and proficiency testing samples. Maintains Laboratory equipment, supplies and environment. Supports maintenance of radionuclide and chemical inventories.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Duties:</b></div><div><ul><li>
Manufactures calibration standards, check sources and PE samples.</li><li>
Manufactures sources in support of the company&rsquo;s Traceability program.</li><li>
Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies.</li><li>
Performs QC related measurements and maintains some counting equipment.</li><li>
Supports maintenance of radioisotope and chemical inventories.</li><li>
Maintains a clean and safe laboratory environment.</li><li>
Performs inspection of incoming material.</li><li>
Supports compliance to the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 17043 and the company Quality Manual.</li><li>
Supports the Health Physics department with radioactive waste management, contamination surveys, dose surveys and decontamination of minor spills.</li><li>
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Production Manager.</li></ul></div><div></div><p><b><br>
Requirements:</b></p><ul><li><b>
Minimum education (or substitute experience) required: </b>4-year degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.</li></ul><div><ul><li><b>
Minimum experience required: </b>One-year of general wet laboratory experience. (<i>Basics of nuclear counting methodology and nuclear physics experience a plus.)</i></li><li><b>
Abilities and skills required:</b><ul><li>
Ability to read and understand professional documents.</li><li>
Basic laboratory skills and ability to work in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices.</li><li>
Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to exercise caution when working with hazardous chemicals and open radioactive material.</li><li>
Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, probability, and statistical inference.</li><li>
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suit.</li><li>
Ability to work with power tools and machinery a plus.</li></ul></li></ul></div><div></div><div><br>
