Position Summary

The Stores department plays a vital role in the operation of our Aircraft Maintenance organization. As a Stores employee, you will be responsible for carrying out the normal day to day activities associated with the warehousing and distribution of aircraft parts, materials and tooling in support of maintenance activities.

Essential Job Duties Responsibilities

<div>Role Summary

Cargo Agents are responsible for following all Everts Air Cargo (EAC) policies and procedures while completing daily duties involving mail induction, cargo consolidation and storage, and aircraft loading and unloading. Cargo Agents work in the warehouse, on the ramp, and in EAC aircraft throughout the year and in a wide variety of conditions. Cargo Agents transport mail to and from the post office and transfer it to other air carriers around the airport. Completion of assigned duties is accomplished by EAC&rsquo;s Cargo Agents while using a variety of company equipment. 


Compensation Starting at $20.00 p/hr

Key Duties

Cargo Agent Essential Functions:
<ul><li>
Induct Bypass, Non-Priority and Priority Mail into EAC&rsquo;s transportation system, including stacking, shrink-wrapping, bagging and properly storing mail.</li><li>
Operate company equipment while working in the warehouse and at the post office, including forklifts, box trucks and pallet jacks.</li><li>
Conduct daily inspections of forklifts, box trucks and chip containers.</li><li>
Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, including emptying trash cans, and cleaning box trucks and the warehouse as needed.</li></ul> 


Rampers Essential Functions (in addition to Cargo Agent I Functions):
<ul><li>
Organize and consolidate freight and mail in preparation for loading.
</li><li>Stage freight and mail in preparation for a flight.</li><li>
Assist with connection and start-up of ground power units on aircraft, when needed.
</li><li>Complete aircraft preparation duties prior to loading EAC flights.</li><li>
Operate company equipment while working on the ramp and safely and efficiently loading EAC aircraft, including use of forklifts, belt loaders, bob-tail trucks, chain carts and dollies, and scissor lift trucks.</li><li>
Utilize various support tools such as pipe rollers, vehicle dollies, pallet jacks, toothpicks and pry bars during completion of loading and unloading duties.
</li><li>Perform safety-related functions such as securing cargo loads with straps and nets and securing cargo doors. Assist with connecting aircraft power units and placement of wheel chocks and air stairs.</li><li>
Occasionally fly on aircraft to final destination to assist in loading and unloading.</li><li>
Transfer mail to the post office or other air carriers as dictated by the post office personnel.</li><li>
Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment. Including emptying outdoor trash cans and hoppers, cleaning and organizing the ramp areas as assigned, cleaning company equipment stored outdoors, and assisting in post-load clean-up of FOD from the ramp areas and around the aircraft.</li></ul>

You should be an expert communicator who feels equally confident directing student volunteers, negotiating with high-level corporate partners, and navigating the specific administrative frameworks of a university setting, such as procurement and travel policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Some college-level coursework plus one year of marketing experience and least three years of progressively responsible office or administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education or training.
 
 
Knowledge of industry standards for video, web, and graphic production. 
Proficiency in desktop publishing and database software. 
 
Expertise in social media marketing and professional writing. 
 
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to lead student employees, and &quot;operational initiative&quot; to solve problems independently.

Experience working with rural and/or Indigenous Alaska populations preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
