The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), in the Division of Newborn Medicine, is a Level III/IV, 30-bed referral center for critically ill infants requiring complex medical and surgical care. Highly specialized physicians, nurses, and support staff collaborate in the care of critically ill infants and their families. A team from multiple specialties within the hospital provides advanced therapies and family centered care for infants from around the region and the world.<br>

We work closely with the Fetal Care Surgery Center to coordinate both prenatal consultation and postnatal intensive care for infants with a wide range of prenatally diagnosed conditions. Neonatology attendings, fellows, pediatric surgical residents, and either neonatal nurse practitioners or pediatrician hospitalists are available on the unit 24 hours a day.<br>

<b>Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
Under the supervision of the registered nurse the Clinical Assistant will help provide basic bedside nursing care for complex neonatal and pediatric patients.</li><li>
In collaboration with the registered nurse, you may be responsible for obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, and oxygen saturation measurements, while identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.</li><li>
Transporting patients, stocking of supplies and equipment as needed.</li><li>

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing primary care for a caseload of patients. As an advanced practice nurse, the NP has received specialized training and education in the management of the acute care. The NP is uniquely qualified to meet the responsibilities of the role which include, but are not limited to: Comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment; Prescribing and performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; Supervise protocols and insure compliance of studies; Development, evaluation and modifications of treatment plans as patient condition warrants; Review/prescribe therapeutic orders for patients; and Participate in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated by patient condition. Nurse Practitioner-Heme Onc Per Diem

<p></p><div><div><div><div><p>We are expanding our Advanced Practice Provider team in a state of the art 44 bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in a new Heart Center here at Boston Children&rsquo;s Hospital. We are looking for diverse and motivated individuals to join our team here in Boston. When you join our team you will work with a supportive group of Advanced Practice Providers, Attending Physicians and Fellows. You will be responsible for taking care of Pre and Post-operative highly acute cardiac patients, along with children who have cardiac medical needs in the intensive care unit. We have an extensive Orientation Program to prepare you for taking care of these critically ill patients and to thrive here at Boston Children&rsquo;s. Come join a supportive, multidisciplinary and collaborative team that puts the patient and families first through exceptional care and the latest Pediatric Cardiac Research.</p><p><b>
Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Providing care to infants, children, and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease.</li><li>Caring for patients with both acute and chronic cardiac disease.</li><li>Collaborating with the CICU Attending physician, to conduct patient assessment, medical history, physical exams, and diagnose health and developmental problems.</li><li>Participating in CICU medical rounds, including presentation of clinical information, plan development and continued management and modification of the plan for patients throughout the shift.</li><li>Pre and Post-Op care of critically ill cardiac patients that involves management of ventilators, inotropic support, ECMO, CVVH, emergency situations and sedation titration.</li><li>Procedures such as Intubation and Central lines, will be taught in both Simulation and during real-time, hands-on events.</li><li>Extensive Orientation Program with a designated preceptor, simulation and didactic classes along with hands-on experience. Access to in-person and Zoom lectures by Heart Center experts as well as electronic recordings on OpenPediatrics.</li><li>Participation in ongoing research and committees in the CICU.</li><li>Offer consultation and education to all staff, patients and families.</li><li><b>Schedule</b>: 40 hours per week, up to 50% rotation to nights, every 3rd weekend and some holidays, including major.</li></ul><p><b>
