The Patient Care Assistant II is responsible for supporting the RN with clinical tasks, including but not limited to blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, applying simple dressings, using aseptic technique and responding to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills. In addition, the PCA II is responsible for responding to the needs of patients and family members and taking an active role in the efficient operation of the unit. We are expanding our Advanced Practice Provider team in a state of the art 44 bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in a new Heart Center here at Boston Children&rsquo;s Hospital. We are looking for diverse and motivated individuals to join our team here in Boston. When you join our team you will work with a supportive group of Advanced Practice Providers, Attending Physicians and Fellows. You will be responsible for taking care of Pre and Post-operative highly acute cardiac patients, along with children who have cardiac medical needs in the intensive care unit. We have an extensive Orientation Program to prepare you for taking care of these critically ill patients and to thrive here at Boston Children&rsquo;s. This is a 36-hour evening position.

As a member of the Acute Psychiatry Service (APS) Provider Team, the Advanced Practice Provider will assume the role of responding clinician in the assessment and care of patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, education, and management of the patient, in particular the patient awaiting admission to a psychiatric inpatient facility. The patient may be evaluated or seen in follow-up while in the APS, the main ED or an associated observation/ boarding unit.<br>

The APP will collaborate with all the members of the care team including EM and APS physicians, nurses, resource specialists, social workers, case managers, administrative staff, etc. to ensure optimal care. The APP will facilitate and coordinate the operational, administrative and collaborative efforts of the multidisciplinary team.

<ul><li>Prescribes medications.</li><li>Determines level of care needs for patients and initiates referrals, transfers, and consultations as needed for behavioral health and substance abuse disorders.</li><li>Participates in and facilitates quality assurance and performance improvement activities for evaluation of structure, process, and outcome criteria as it relates to clinical practice.</li><li>Identifies factors contributing to outcomes, such as complications, increased length of stay, and over utilization of services and actively participates in problem solving these issues, in collaboration with appropriate staff.

Skills and Experience:

<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years advanced practice experience, strongly preferred, in adult mental health, preferred.</li></ul><br>
Education/Degree:<br>
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s and Master&rsquo;s in Nursing Required - Adult Psychiatric Mental Health</li><li>Master Physician Assistant Required- Adult Psychiatric Mental Health</li></ul>
Licensure, Certifications:

<ul><li>Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant - Adult Psychiatric Mental Health in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.</li><li>Current federal and state-controlled substance certification/registration.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.<br>

Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is seeking a permanent Critical Care Technician (CCT), with Day and Night shift availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Blake 7 is an eighteen bed Adult Medical Intensive Care Unit, located in Boston MA. This is a multidisciplinary unit with a variety of complex respiratory and medical patients. The unit cares for patients who may require treatments that include CVVH and ECMO. Notable diagnosis includes but not limited to sepsis, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, heme-oncology, cardiac, neurology, and infectious diseases such as H1N1(2005), suspect Ebola virus (2014) and the novel Corona Virus (2020).

Critical Care Technicians applicants must have more than (1) year clinical patient experience. All applicants must be able to provide full-time weekday and rotational weekend availability to be considered for this permanent opportunity
