Cardiac Techs help aid the RNs throughout the prep and recovery of our Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, and Cardiac OR patients. In our department we prep and recover 40 - 60 patients a day. In the recovery area, the cardiac techs are trained to settle patients in the room postoperatively (hooking to the monitor, cleaning, repositioning); obtain EKGs or any specimens ordered; remove arterial and venous sheaths from the femoral, radial and brachial sites; help patients that are on bedrest with eating, toileting, or any other request per the patient; and transporting patients to their inpatient room or assisting in the discharge process. This job does require the capabilities to lift, push, pull, and standing for long periods of time.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Overview:
Sentara Pace is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Clinical Secretary.
Position Status: Full Time, M-F, 8am-5pm
Position Location: Norfolk, VA
Pay Range: $17.31- $28.85
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Manage incoming calls, emails, faxes.</li><li>
Maintain and coordinate the providers' schedule including appointments and calendar updates.</li><li>
Process referrals and coordinate scheduling for outside specialty appointments and diagnostic services.</li><li>
Operate and maintain office equipment including fax, copier, scanner, and printer machines.</li><li>
Mange patient records, forms, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.</li><li>
Greet and assist patients, visitors, and vendors courteously and professionally.</li><li>
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.</li><li>
Prepare, organize, and distribute clinic paperwork, reports, and correspondence.</li><li>
Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, insurance companies, pharmacies, and medical offices.</li><li>
Monitor office supplies and submit orders when inventory is low.</li><li>
Assist with check in/out procedures</li><li>
Other clinic office duties as assigned.</li><li>
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.</li></ul>
Education<ul><li>
High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)</li></ul>
Experience<ul><li>
Previous medical office or healthcare experience (highly preferred)</li><li>
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and EMR systems.</li><li>
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting.</li><li>
Knowledge of medical terminology and referral processes.</li></ul>
