Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs work of a pharmacy technician, in accordance with Article 137 of the Education Law, specifically Article137-A, which details the tasks permitted for a licensed pharmacy technician and an unlicensed pharmacy technician. Ensures patient safety, optimal utilization of resources, service delivery and compliance with NYC Health + Hospitals, health care setting, and all other relevant regulatory policies and standards of care to improve outcomes and patient experience.</p><p><b>
Examples of Tasks and Responsibilities</b>:</p><p>
1. Validates patient identity and screens prescriptions for completeness, formulary/restriction and payment status, prior to processing.</p><p>
2. Receives written or electronically transmitted prescriptions, types prescription labels and affixes labels on containers.</p><p>
3. Accurately keys and retrieves prescription data from a computer-generated file for review by a pharmacist.
</p><p>4. Obtains drugs from stock and returns them to stock.</p><p>
5. Restocks automated dispensing cabinets.</p><p>
6. Gets prescription files and other manual records from storage and locates prescriptions.</p><p>

The Specialty Pharmacy Technician / Specialty Pharmacy Guide (CPhT) is a member of the Rightway PBM Clinical Operations team. This role will be key in supporting our Specialty Clinical Pharmacists to deliver on the &quot;pharmacist in the family&quot; approach to engaging our members. We are looking for an experienced certified pharmacy technician to engage with our specialty members in a caring and empathetic manner. WHAT YOU'LL DO:</b></p>

<li>Serves as direct member and provider contact for specialty pharmacy benefit information, prior authorization requests, and navigation support. Inquiries may be received by telephone, chat, fax, email, or written correspondence</li>

   Retrieves and delivers medication in a timely fashion.

   Prepares/ checks Urgent Use Stock orders for patient care areas accurately and does not over-stock.
