A Technician is responsible for contributing to safe and effective operations of the pharmacy, including but not limited to:<ul><li>

About the Role:
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will serve within their area as the representative of pharmacy in all aspects of the care the pharmacy department provides. They will be responsible for review of pharmacy and organizational policies and procedures as they regard to drug use and departmental readiness for regulatory audits within and outside of their specialty area. They will provide oversight of formulary management (including development of guidelines and protocols) and drug-related education, work closely with other hospital departments to evaluate, direct, and modify pharmacy services, and assist in training of clinical staff and learners including competency assessments. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will also assist with oversight of the other pharmacy team members on their unit, when applicable. Academic scholarship will also be expected of this role including but not limited to authorship, presentations, and attendance at national meetings. The clinical pharmacy specialists will also be expected to help create and execute collaborative practice opportunities at Children's National.

<div>About this Job: General Summary of Position 
The Transporter supports the Manager and staff by performing the following duties; Responsible for the timely courteous and competent transportation of patients throughout MedStar National Rehabilitation Network (MNRN) and MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) complexes via wheelchair stretcher or bed. He/she will also perform a variety of other support services functions as needed to provide service excellence to patients visitors and hospital team members.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities 
<ul><li>
Transports patient his/her personal possessions medical records and attached clinical devices (IV's and oxygen) by wheelchair stretcher bed etc. to and from various hospital locations and to the hospital entrance upon discharge.</li><li>
Ensures the safety of the patient during transport and alerts nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or unfavorable symptoms.</li><li>
Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive offering blankets checks modesty and engagement of appropriate conversation with the patient/assists in the lifting positioning and transferring patient to and from examination tables wheelchairs stretchers and /or beds.</li><li>
Provides lift team support as assigned. Assures that patient is comfortable and securely fastened and provides gowns pillows/blankets to patients.</li><li>
Ensures that patient has hospital identification band corresponding with name and transportation record.</li><li>
Wears appropriate protective clothing as needed.</li><li>
Documents arrival and departure times and informs appropriate staff of patient destination location and or time of arrival</li><li>
Delivers and retrieves supplies equipment and records e.g. laboratory specimens results x-ray film unit supplies medical charts pharmacy products parcels and messages.</li><li>
Maintains associated transportation records including name of patient or material transported pickup site destination and departure/ arrival times and notes difficulties encountered and relays to supervisor.</li><li>
Inspects transportation equipment for damage and/or defects.</li><li>
Cleans transportation equipment by wiping surfaces with pre-mixed cleaning solutions. reports damaged or malfunctioning transport equipment as required to service manager and or logs work request and tags and removes equipment from service.</li><li>
Retrieves clean linen and dispose of soiled linen.</li><li>
Restrains patients as directed by holding or strapping with appropriate constraints.</li><li>
Completes transports quickly and efficiently; immediately notifies dispatcher when assignments are initiated completed and when paged by dispatcher.</li></ul>

DaVita Kidney Care, is bringing our industry-leading clinical quality to patients on-site at skilled nursing facilities (SNF) through a new team called DaVita Skilled Nursing Dialysis Services. Approximately 10% of all dialysis patients reside in a SNF and are transported to dialysis three times a week placing a significant burden on patients and adding significant avoidable costs to the health care system. DSD Services teammates will have access to all the capabilities and resources DaVita has to offer, and will work to quickly leverage these to develop the infrastructure and rapidly grow the new service line. Ideal teammates will have significant experience within DaVita, get energized by a start-up type environment and improving the lives of patients, and have a track record of finding ways to GSD. Teammates must be comfortable working autonomously and have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with cross-functional resources across the Village. 
What you can expect:
In this role, you take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track. PCTs will work in conjunction with dialysis RNs to provide dialysis care. You will work 3 days a week - with no required on call, yet your impact on the lives of our patients and their families will be felt every day.
Patient Care: Spending the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
Complexity: DSD Dialysis care is a complex but fulfilling service line. Meeting and/or exceeding clinical outcomes are the goals and multitasking is an expectation to meet the needs of the service, the patients and our SNF partners.
Autonomy and Critical Thinking: Provide comprehensive patient care in an independent setting. Plan to be on your toes at all times. You use your mind constantly. You apply your &quot;core&quot; skills to monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. There's a lot to track and manage and the joy comes in witnessing how your care impacts patients' lives.
