The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and have effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise. Our physician assistants are responsible for providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to patients in the surgical, inpatient and outpatient settings. Teaching associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position has a flexible start date in the spring or summer of 2026.
Salary:
 
The base salary range for this position will be: $10,000 - $14,850 per month ($120,000-178,200 annually) commensurate with qualifications and years of experience as a physician assistant, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.

The Department of Emergency Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a temporary Research Study Assistant (RSA). This is a full-time temporary position expected to last 12 months.
The Research Study Assistant will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research at Harborview Medical Center and UWMC. Projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, sepsis, and opioids. The research study assistant will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders.

 Located just off of I-5 in north Seattle, UW Medicine Primary Care at Outpatient Medical Center is open six days a week. (Our Saturday schedules vary. Please call ahead before visiting on a Saturday.)
 
 
 Our board-certified physicians provide a full spectrum of primary care, including annual wellness and preventive healthcare services, management of chronic conditions, treatment of acute conditions, mental health services and routine gynecologic exams. We believe that continuity of care &mdash; a shared goal that fosters ongoing, caring relationships between patients and healthcare providers &mdash; is vital to keeping you healthy in the long term.

 Primary Job Responsibilities

 Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform injections
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare and clean exam rooms
 </li>
 <li>
 Submit medication prior authorizations
 </li>
 <li>
 Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
 </li>
 <li>
 Act as a liaison between patient, patient&rsquo;s family and providers
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in transporting patients as required
 
 
 </li>

 Requirements

 Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
 </li>

 Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
 </li>
 <li>
 Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
