Nurse Practitioner or PA - Oncology Eval. and Treatment Center, OETC

<div><p>The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Collaborative Inpatient Medicine Service (CIMS) is an independent Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) and a professional healthcare provider who works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to adult inpatients.</p>
<p>The APP provides care across general medicine, addiction medicine, and the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). Responsibilities include performing admissions, delivering day-to-day inpatient management, and coordinating and completing patient discharges. The APP position is primarily day shift, with rotations through nights and weekends.</p>
<p>The APP has the opportunity to perform procedures for the general medicine service if desired; however, procedural work is not required.</p>
<p>The APP is expected to attend at least one divisional meeting per month.</p>
<p>All APPs must maintain a current collaborative agreement (as applicable by role and state regulation) and complete all hospital credentialing and privileging requirements. We are actively looking for a new group of skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Providers (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our growing team so that we can open a new extension of the CVSICU! This new unit will provide a new team of APPs caring for the Cardiac Surgery ICU patient population on a neighboring unit of the CVSICU. This full time position will also work alongside the ICU intensivists and cardiothoracic surgeons.

<p>Join our esteemed team at Johns Hopkins Hospital as an Advanced Practice Provider on the Cardiovascular Surgical Team. We are working to open an extending 4 to 6 bed unit on an additional floor that will take care of ICU level cardiac surgery patients in order to accommodate the rapid growth of the Heart and Vascular Institute. We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, conducting groundbreaking research, and educating future medical professionals.</p>
<p>Position Overview:</p>
<p>
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join the Heart and Vascular Institute in taking care of pre and postoperative high acuity cardiac surgery patients. This full time position will consist of a model of providing comprehensive care of ICU level multiple units alongside ICU intensivists and cardiothoracic surgeons. These patients will be on a neighboring floor from the main base of the CVSICU but will be cared for by the same cardiothoracic surgeons and ICU intensivists. Due to a different location, these patients will be patients who are not requiring mechanical circulatory support.</p>
<p><b>Schedule:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>50/50 Day/Off Shifts with opportunity for full time nights or weekend option</li>
<li>Including weekends, nights, and holidays</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients at an ICU level. Patient population currently <b>excluded</b> on this unit include but are not limited to: patients with open chest, requiring mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, Impella, IABP, etc.).</li>
<li>Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.</li>
<li>Perform invasive procedures, including but not limited to central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube removal and pacer wire removal.</li>
<li>Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and discharge planning.</li>
<li>Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with ICU staff as well as the cardiology, pulmonology and cardiothoracic surgery teams.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Requirements:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Physician Assistant Certification from Accredited Program</li>
<li>Preferred (not required) ICU and/or cardiac surgery clinical experience</li>
<li>Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make autonomous decisions in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.</li>
