Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
Under general supervision initiates, assesses, and evaluates all forms of respiratory therapy including bronchodilators, chest physical therapy, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive and invasive ventilator care. Exercises technical knowledge in respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathology as well as the design and operations of all respiratory therapy equipment. The RCP demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to neonates, infants, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Position Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a staff position preferred.
Education:
Current permanent or temporary license issued by the Texas Department of Health to practice Respiratory Care. RRT/RCP
Special Qualifications:
Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population of the patients served.
Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
The Respiratory Therapist Lead shall deliver competent and compassionate Respiratory Care services to patients of all age groups through the of use accepted Clinical Practice Guidelines for assessing, treating and documenting the effects of Respiratory Care provided to patients. The Respiratory Therapist Lead shall work cooperatively with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary staff, and other members of the patent care team utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to maintain standards for professional practices. The function of the Respiratory Therapist Lead shall be carried out according to departmental and hospital policies, HCA Medical Center&rsquo;s mission statement and Standards of Behavior guidelines.<h6 class="jobSectionHeader">
What you will do in this role:</h6><ul><li>
Cleans, assembles, maintains, operates, troubleshoots and performs minor repair on all equipment.</li><li>
Performs general respiratory therapy to all ages in accordance with age specific criteria including incentive breathing devices, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy and suctioning.</li><li>
Collects and evaluates additional information through chart review, general assessment and patient interviews.</li><li>
Performs and modifies (or changes) treatments based on response to therapy.</li><li>
Evaluates and monitors response to all therapy with appropriate documentation in the medical record.</li><li>
Provides critical care services to patients of all ages in accordance with age specific criteria.</li><li>
Reviews patient records.</li><li>
Manages and makes adjustments to mechanical ventilators, including weaning.</li><li>
Assists with endotracheal intubation and performs extubations.</li><li>
Participates in CPR, patient transport, and monitoring.</li><li>

Performs and monitors moderately complex testing as related to the blood gas lab, sample collection, sample analysis, reporting of results and maintenance procedures.</li><li>
Performs EKG&rsquo;s as needed, including transmission of results</li><li>
Appropriate patient/family education is provided based on assessed needs with appropriate documentation.</li><li>
Verifies, prepares and administers medication to patients. Identifies patient prior to administration. Reports medication errors and significant drug reactions to appropriate individuals with appropriate documentation.</li><li>

As a Respiratory Therapist, you&rsquo;ll play an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments. Your role will include:
