<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing Day-to-Day</h3><div>

Regulatory Monitoring &amp; Analysis ( 50%)
<ul>
<li>Track and analyze laws impacting the platform (FCRA, TCPA, Fair Housing, consumer protection, FTC/marketing, data privacy)</li>
<li>Identify risks and deliver clear, decision-ready guidance</li>
</ul>
Business Partnership
<ul>
<li>Partner with Product, Marketing, and Operations to support real-time decision-making</li>
<li>Translate legal requirements into practical, actionable recommendations</li>
</ul>
Compliance &amp; Risk Management
<ul>
<li>Support and improve compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures</li>
<li>Perform audits of developing and existing federal and state-level regulatory requirements</li>
</ul>
Investigations &amp; Regulatory Support
<ul>
<li>Coordinate initial investigations and fact-gathering alongside customer support</li>
<li>Support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, or enforcement matters</li>
</ul>
Generalist In-House Support ( 50%)
<ul>
<li>Handle day-to-day legal questions (host matters, customer experience escalations, general business issues)</li>
<li>Support zoning and code enforcement matters</li>
<li>Provide broad legal support as needs arise</li>
</ul>
Legal Intake &amp; Triage (Core to Role)
<ul>
<li>Serve as the first point of contact for legal and compliance questions</li>
<li>Triage and respond in real time, managing a high-volume request stream</li>
<li>Escalate higher-risk issues as needed</li>
</ul></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">What You&rsquo;ll Need to Be Successful</h3><div>

Legal Expertise
<ul>
<li>J.D. with an active bar license (TX, FL, or GA preferred; East Coast hours required )</li>
<li>~5+ years of relevant experience</li>
</ul>
Regulatory Knowledge
<ul>
<li>Familiarity with FCRA, Fair Housing, TCPA, consumer protection, FTC/marketing, and data privacy</li>
<li>CIPP/US certification is a plus</li>
</ul>
Core Skills
<ul>
<li>Strong legal research and writing</li>
<li>Nuanced judgment applied to complex legal scenarios and practical risk assessment</li>
<li>Ability to translate legal requirements into business-friendly guidance</li>
</ul>
Ways of Working
<ul>
<li>Experience partnering with Product, Marketing, or Operations teams</li>
<li>Ability to manage high-volume legal intake and prioritize effectively</li>
<li>Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment</li>
<li>Comfortable working independently with appropriate judgment for escalations</li>
<li>Clear, concise communication that delivers the ability to influence decisions</li>

<li>If you meet eligibility requirements, the next step would be a phone screen with a member of the PeopleOps team for about thirty (30) minutes.</li>
<li>If warranted, the next step would be a video interview with our Associate General Counsel for one (1) hour.</li>
<li>If warranted, the final step would be a video panel interview with key stakeholders at PadSplit for one (1) hour.</li>
