 The Washington Post Opinions section is seeking versatile video editors to edit podcast videos, interviews and social clips. We strive to achieve academic-level depth with magazine-level readability at the pace of news. We aim to improve the discourse on the law and policy of national security with a relentless focus on substantive issues that matter&mdash;in a fashion that is useful to policymakers and practitioners, but also accessible to anyone. About the role
We are pleased to announce that Lawfare is hiring two early-career researchers to help develop and expand the use of RAGtime, our AI-enabled research platform for primary-source, democracy-sensitive public records. RAGtime went into production in May 2026 and today integrates more than 1.6 million primary-source documents&mdash;federal court litigation, the U.S. Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, Office of Legal Counsel opinions, and the documentary history of U.S. foreign relations&mdash;into a single searchable, queryable, and analyzable interface at ragtime.lawfaremedia.org. A beta version launched in June 2026 to Lawfare&rsquo;s roughly 10,000 financial supporters, and the platform is now moving toward wider public release. 
This role is less about traditional software engineering than about the imaginative, rigorous use, expansion, and development of a powerful new research tool. Working closely with Lawfare&rsquo;s editor-in-chief, senior editors, and a community of developers, these fellows sit at the intersection of data analysis, journalism, and innovation to explore what RAGtime makes possible: probing how it engages existing datasets, experimenting with new ones, and developing high-value use cases for journalists, lawyers, researchers, and civil society. It is a role in the spirit of the generalist, conceptually curious&mdash;well-suited to someone excited to think alongside a novel technology and help shape how it is used.

What you'll do
Working across data journalism, research analysis, and use-case development, the data journalism fellows will:<ul><li>

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a global network of policy research centers, is seeking a dynamic New Media Manager with a passion for storytelling and creative content to join its communications team in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position with an anticipated duration of 24 months.
The New Media Manager will be responsible for increasing Carnegie's overall video-based output about major news topics in international affairs policy by connecting Carnegie scholars to networks of creators; training and coaching scholars in best practices; directing creative storytelling strategies for social media; and producing a strategy blueprint that can be shared with similarly positioned organizations operating in the new media landscape. This role will be critical in directing strategy to reaching audiences via short form video, advising, and helping create engaging content, and facilitating shared learnings across Carnegie and partner organizations.
Candidates should have 3 to 5+ years of experience in social media strategy, content marketing, digital audience development, or a similar field. Demonstrated experience working with nonprofit organizations, content creators, journalists, academics, or digital storytellers, with a strong grasp of how to build and engage audiences on fact-based content, is a big plus. Deep understanding of social video platforms, how to tailor content for each platform, and understanding how to break through in an information landscape transforming due to artificial intelligence is essential. The ideal candidate will have a track record of producing compelling content, as well as an ability to set and adjust strategy based on trends. Strong editorial judgment and news instincts required. Experience managing a social media budget and training others who are new to engage with social media a plus. The position reports to the Vice President for Communications and will work closely with the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance program, as well as the Sustainability, Climate and Geopolitics program.
