The Opportunity:</b></h2>

<p>Gynger is looking for a sharp, hands-on Accounting Manager to take ownership of our daily accounting function at a pivotal moment in the company's growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, detail oriented accounting professional to step into a high impact role at a fast growing fintech startup.<br>

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment, takes genuine ownership of their work, and brings an automation first mindset to everything they do. You will be responsible for day to day cash operations, tightening our close process, and building scalable, AI enabled workflows across loan reconciliation, revenue accounting, AR and AP.<br>

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance and based in our NYC office, you will play a central role in the company's continued success and be a key voice in how we build the finance / accounting function for the long term.</p>

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>In this role you will...</b></h3><div>

<li><p><b>Financial Reporting: </b>Prepare financial statements and other financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit &amp; loss statements, and management reports</p>
</li>
<li><p><b>Cash Management: </b>Manage day to day cash operations and wire processing</p>
</li>
<li><p><b>Process Automation &amp; Internal Controls: </b>Design and implement automated reconciliation workflows, build internal controls, and leverage AI tooling to reduce manual effort</p>

<li><p><b>Month End Close: </b>Own and execute the monthly close process prepare financial reports tailored to management and other stakeholders</p>
</li>
<li><p><b>Balance Sheet Reconciliations: </b>Recurring cash and loan portfolio reconciliations</p>

<li><p><b>Accounts Receivable: </b>Manage accounts receivable process, maintain strong client communication</p>
</li>
<li><p><b>Accounts Payable &amp; Expense Management: </b>Manage AP processes including vendor payments, expense management, and corporate card administration</p>

You have...</b></h3><div>
<ul>
<li><p>A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 4 - 5 years of hands on experience at a tech startup, a public accounting firm, or a combination of both.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Experience in an environment where you owned processes end to end and can point to concrete examples of workflows you have built and automated.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Working knowledge of US GAAP accounting and experience supporting a financial audit, including documenting policies and preparing evidence.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Strong data skills with the ability to handle large datasets and build robust reconciliations that hold up under edge cases.</p>
</li>
<li><p>An AI native mindset with proficiency using AI tools in an accounting or operations context, or a genuine curiosity about pushing that further.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Familiarity with the unique nuances of lending and SaaS revenue models.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate seamlessly across teams and translate complex accounting issues for non-finance stakeholders.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail to keep fast moving projects on track.</p>
