 We are seeking an Assistant Editor, Fine Arts to help shape and elevate our coverage of visual art, architecture and design; museums and other art institutions; and auctions, with an eye toward ambitious, distinctive journalism that reaches a broad, curious audience. You should have expertise that will produce stories that lead readers into the boardrooms and the studios of today's cultural influencers and will also develop stories about the intersection of art and new media, including artificial intelligence.
 
 
 You will work closely with the art discipline editor, critics and reporters to determine coverage, assign, edit and second edit news, features, reviews and visual story forms.
 
 
 You'll also manage a critic and assign and oversee the work of freelancers. You should have a deep understanding of fine arts and art institutions, strong editing skills across formats and platforms and a track record of guiding world-class journalism.

MS NOW is looking for a video podcast editor to join our team. This role will work across the unit to support multiple projects and ensure high technical standards by editing tape across a variety of video platforms (from longform horizonal podcasts to &ldquo;Reels-style&rdquo; vertical videos), audio mixing, and filming.
This role starts early in the production process: helping to set up the tech for remote and in-person interviews, troubleshoot connection and technical problems, and positioning talent and guests to ensure the highest quality recording. This person will also ingest audio and video files, plus prepare edit sessions for the team of producers. In the final stages of the process, it is this person&rsquo;s responsibility to ensure podcasts are beautifully cut and delivered to spec.
The video podcast editor should be extremely detail-oriented, while also knowing how to work fast. It&rsquo;s essential to have a mastery of advanced video and engineering techniques and be comfortable troubleshooting when something goes wrong. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable collaborating with our audio engineer on pieces, as the majority of MS NOW&rsquo;s podcasts live on both audio-first and video-first platforms.

 About The Role
 
 
 
 The Wall Street Journal's Opinion section is seeking a Letters Editor to join our growing editorial team in New York. This role is ideal for a collaborative editor with sharp news judgment and knowledge of current affairs, excellent editing skills and a commitment to high journalistic standards. The Letters Editor is responsible for selecting and editing the daily Letters to the Editor column, published Monday through Saturday in print and online. The position requires a keen sense of what makes a compelling read, the ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadline pressure, and the judgment to handle reader feedback with professionalism and courtesy.
 
 
 The Journal is looking for a candidate who is eager to expand reader engagement by fostering thoughtful debate and growing the Letters audience across digital platforms. This will include soliciting letters on occasion to respond to Journal articles. The candidate should be able to write headlines that are accurate and attract readers on the Journal's platforms as well as on search and social websites.
 
 
 You are a close reader of the Journal, deeply engaged with the news of the day and is familiar with the ideas, philosophy and principles of the WSJ Opinion section. You will report to the Editorial Page Editor and will be based in our New York office.

 You Will

 Review hundreds of daily submissions to select the most relevant, timely, and well-argued letters for the print and digital editions.

 Refine submissions for clarity, brevity, and grammar while preserving the author's original intent and "voice."

 Solicit letters in response to news coverage to encourage informed debate and reader engagement.
 </li>

 Write accurate, engaging headlines optimized for print, search, social, and digital platforms.
 </li>

 Pitch content ideas and occasionally contribute bylined articles.

 Participate in editorial board meetings and collaborate with Opinion writers and editors.

 You Have

 At least 7 years editing experience, preferably covering political, economic or cultural content.

 It is essential that candidates be familiar with the ideas, philosophy and principles for which The Wall Street Journal's editorial page stands.

 Proficiency in writing, copy-editing and proofreading.
 </li>
 <li>
 Exceptional editing skills and sound editorial judgement.

 As a Podcast Social Video Editor you will drive the creative vision for short-form social content across the Vox Media slate and oversee the producers who make it. You'll align workflows and standards, build the content calendar, and steward performance and quality.  Lead the video/motion production team responsible for social-first clips, motion graphic promos and still/motion image assets across all shows.

 Build a content calendar aligned with episode launches, campaign pushes, guest announcements, trending topics, and evergreen show moments.

 Define creative standards and aesthetic direction for each show&rsquo;s social assets, drawing upon a sophisticated understanding of branding and motion design.

 Establish and refine production workflows (editing pipeline, asset versioning, templates, motion-graphic library) to support fast turnaround with high quality.

 5+ years of experience creating social-first video content and motion graphic assets for media brands, preferably including podcasts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrated leadership experience (managing or mentoring producers/editors) in a fast-moving digital media environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent storytelling and motion-design instincts; you understand how pacing, typography, graphic motion, sound design and platform context combine to engage audiences.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong editing and motion workflow skills (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent) plus familiarity with social editing tools and asset versioning.
 </li>
 <li>
 Deep understanding of platform norms and performance best practices (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc) along with social metrics interpretation.
