Responsibilities</b><ul>
<li><b>Coordinate Center activities:</b> Work closely with program leadership to organize and advance the scientific, operational, and administrative priorities of the autoimmunity program.</li><li><b>
Develop and manage RFAs:</b> Help design, launch, and coordinate requests for applications, pilot grant programs, review processes, award tracking, progress reporting, and related programmatic activities.</li><li><b>
Advance strategic partnerships:</b> Identify, cultivate, and manage partnerships with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, philanthropic, and academic partners aligned with the program&rsquo;s scientific and translational goals.</li><li><b>
Support large-scale program projects:</b> Coordinate multi-investigator and cross-disciplinary initiatives, including collaborative research programs, translational studies, cross-disease immune profiling efforts, and consortium-style projects.</li><li><b>
Work with innovation and commercialization partners:</b> Collaborate closely with <b>Mount Sinai Innovation Partners</b> to identify translational opportunities, support intellectual property strategy, facilitate industry engagement, and help advance promising discoveries toward clinical or commercial impact.</li><li><b>

Qualifications</b><div>
PhD, MD, PhD/MBA, MD/MBA or equivalent degree in Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral, translational, industry, program leadership, or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of immunology and autoimmune disease biology. Experience coordinating complex scientific programs, collaborative research initiatives, grant programs, or strategic partnerships. Demonstrated ability to work across academic, clinical, translational, philanthropic, and industry-facing environments. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare scientific proposals, strategic documents, reports, donor-facing materials, and presentations. Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with senior faculty, institutional leadership, administrative teams, industry partners, philanthropic stakeholders, and external collaborators. The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Mercy University invites applications for a full-time, multi-year Assistant Professor/Clinical Director of Counseling position in the Department of Counseling, overseeing field experience for the School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and engaged team as the Department of Counseling prepares CACREP accreditation to further strengthen its graduate programs and student outcomes. The Clinical Director role includes an additional stipend and a course release to support administrative and programmatic responsibilities associated with field experience coordination. This position requires regular on-campus presence. Limited flexibility for remote work may be available in alignment with departmental needs and responsibilities.</p>

Essential Job Functions &amp; Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul>
<li><b>Field Experience Coordination:</b> Oversee practicum and internship placements for the School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling programs, including responsibility for ensuring students are appropriately placed in qualified training sites that meet program and accreditation standards.</li>
<li><b>Teaching Responsibilities:</b> The standard graduate faculty teaching load is 21 credits (7 courses) per academic year. This position includes a course release to support administrative and programmatic responsibilities related to the Clinical Director role. Teaching assignments will focus on field experience courses such as Practicum and Internship.</li>
<li><b>Grant-Funded Initiatives:</b> Provide opportunities for student engagement in grant-supported programs, including program development and student support services.</li>
<li><b>Student Placement &amp; Site Relations:</b> Lead and manage the practicum and internship placement process, including working directly with students to secure and finalize appropriate field placements that align with program requirements. Maintain consistent communication with clinical sites and oversee the placement process from initial coordination through completion of the field experience.</li>
<li><b>Partnership Development:</b> Lead the development and maintenance of partnerships with PK&ndash;12 schools and mental health agencies to support School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling student placements. Identify, cultivate, and sustain new site relationships that align with program goals and ensure access to high-quality, supervised field experiences.</li>
<li><b>Student Advising &amp; Mentorship:</b> Advise and mentor graduate students, fostering their academic and professional development.</li>
<li><b>Program Development &amp; Accreditation:</b> Collaborate on program assessment, curriculum development, and efforts related to CACREP accreditation to maintain and enhance program quality.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Preferred Skills:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience teaching in online and hybrid formats.</li>
<li>Experience working with diverse student populations.</li>
<li>Proficiency with Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Required Skills &amp; Experience:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program.</li>
<li>Credentialing as a certified School Counselor and/or Licensed Mental Health Counselor; credentialing in both areas is preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum of five years of relevant field experience as a School Counselor and/or Mental Health Counselor, with experience in both settings preferred.</li>
<li>Experience teaching graduate-level courses, particularly field experience courses such as practicum and internship in School Counseling and/or Mental Health Counseling.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to coordinate, manage, and support student practicum and internship placements.</li>
<li>Ability to build partnerships with schools, agencies, and clinical sites.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and community partners in support of program and student success.</li>
<li>Commitment to fostering an inclusive and multicultural learning environment.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Education Requirements:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>PhD in Counseling from a CACREP accredited institution.</li>
<li>Current licensure and/or certification as a School Counselor and/or LMHC in New York State or eligibility for licensure in New York State.</li>
