This is a role built on speed, judgment and execution. You will be responsible for making fast, high-stakes calls about how AP journalism is presented, prioritized and distributed across platforms.</div><div>

At the same time, this is not a passive curation role. You are expected to spot opportunities in real time &mdash; stories that deserve more prominence, angles that can be sharpened, coverage that can go further &mdash; and work with editors and reporters to elevate them.</div><div></div><div><br>

Schedule and location</b></div><div>
This role is aligned with U.S. evening hours and includes regular evening and weekend shifts.</div><div>

Employees who are based near an AP office and work standard business days are expected to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.</div><div></div><div><br>

You will take an important role in how AP journalism shows up across platforms during the PM news cycle.</div><div>

On a typical shift, you may:</div><ul><li><div>
Lead the AP News homepage during peak evening traffic, making fast decisions on story placement and promotion</div></li><li><div>
Write and optimize headlines for clarity, urgency and search performance</div></li><li><div>
Program push alerts that cut through and drive readership</div></li><li><div>
Shape how stories are framed and distributed across social platforms</div></li><li><div>
Use audience data to adjust coverage priorities in real time</div></li></ul><div>

Beyond execution, you will:</div><ul><li><div>
Identify stories that warrant greater visibility or a different approach</div></li><li><div>
Work with reporters and editors to strengthen framing, headlines or packaging</div></li><li><div>

AP is a 24/7 news organization. This role requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends.</div><div></div><div><div><p><br>
This position is covered by The Associated Press&rsquo; contract with the News Media Guild, which provides for an annual salary for Class A staff of between $53,477 and $85,214 based on location and years of professional experience. Compensation is contingent on a job candidate&rsquo;s skills, qualifications and market location. Employees are eligible to participate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan and employer-sponsored health insurance plan, and are eligible for paid time off and holidays in accordance with AP policy.</p></div><div><p><br>
