Qualifications</h4><ul><li>

Knowledge of current marketing initiatives and upcoming events in order to proactively inform guests and invite them back</li><li>
You are responsible for taking orders, making beverages for all guests, serving beverages, selling food, and building repeat clientele</li><li>
Ability to follow specific service time and guidelines while engaging guests and personalizing their experience</li><li>
Work as a contributing member of a team and communicate with management and serving reps to ensure effective customer flow</li><li>
Maintain positive working relationships with all team members and managers</li><li>
Ability to make suggestions and bring propositions to management to grow the business</li><li>
Cross training and mandatory cleaning are requirements of the role</li></ul>

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to guests and to assist and support service colleagues in the hotel&rsquo;s food and beverage outlets including but not limited to the Bar and Restaurant while maintaining high level of service as per Langham Hospitality Group and Forbes standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:<ul>
<li>
Ensure proper set-ups for all tables in assigned sections with attention to details.</li>
<li>Inspect linen, silver, china, and other table items for cleanliness and appearance.</li>
<li>Serve food, coffee, water, and other beverages to customers as required by guests.</li>
<li>Cooperate closely with other members of the outlet team including servers, porters, and kitchen associates.</li>
<li>Run food to tables and clearly explain the composition of each dish in detail with proper language.</li>
<li>Assist bartenders with bar set up and equipment/product replenishment.</li>
<li>Clear and reset tables as needed.</li>
<li>Communicate with Food and Beverage management daily.</li>
<li>Clean restaurant area during and after meal periods.</li>
<li>Positive team player with the ability to get larger tasks completed.</li>
<li>Acquire a working knowledge of the hotel, in-house facilities and local information to respond to customer inquiries about the area.</li>
<li>Follow health and safety procedures.</li>
<li>Work well in a team atmosphere and independently.</li>
<li>Self-motivated and friendly, able to work with a diverse team of people.</li>
<li>Attend monthly department meetings.</li>
<li>Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.</li>
<li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g., special guest requests.</li>
<li>Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned such as assisting security with disorderly guests.</li>
<li>Report duty as scheduled by direct supervisor according to operating hours.</li>
<li>Provide maximum levels of guest service while maintaining Langham Hospitality Group standards.</li>
<li>Be fully versed in all Forbes service standards.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.</li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:<ul>
<li>
Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, grasping, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking. Considerable repetitive motion of hands and wrists as pertaining to pouring of drinks from bottles and shaking with shakers.</li>
<li>Requires the ability to lift and carry object weighing up to 50 pounds.</li>
<li>Standing for 90% of work shift is required.</li>
</ul>
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:<ul>
<li>
Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation.</li>
<li>Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.</li>
<li>Ability to read, speak and understand the English language to communicate with guests and other staff members.</li>
<li>Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.</li>
<li>Ability to operate beverage equipment: coffeemaker, iced tea machine, etc.</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Any combination of education, training, or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Prior Food and Beverage experience required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.
SALARY RANGE:
$11.93-$14.91/hour, plus discretionary gratuities
