Revolution Workshop is a social enterprise that provides carpentry and woodworking workforce development for unemployed or underemployed people in partnership with area businesses. We deliver financial independence and careers through skills, hope, and resilience.
Position Description: This Case Manager oversees the progression of individual trainees through their enrollment, participation, and completion of RW&rsquo;s Trades Pre-Apprenticeship Program. This role will be the main point of contact for trainees in the program and support the attainment of trainee goals. The day to day work includes teaching soft skills classes, coaching, accountability, goal planning, and barrier removal. This role must have knowledge of the social services available in Chicago and have a strong base of strengths-based coaching. All RW staff are expected to uphold the values of the organization in the work they do.
Reporting Structure<ul><li>
This position reports directly to the Program Manager</li></ul>
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Occasional evening and/or weekend events required and will flex hours accordingly.
Roles and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Lead in the support services both internal and external for each trainee based on individual need which include but not limited to; transportation assistance, expungement, child care, financial issues, housing, facilitated trips to Department of Motor Vehicles</li><li>
Work with trainees to develop plans to overcome barriers to employment through one-on-one sessions.</li><li>
Conduct one on one assessments and goal check-in sessions to assist each trainee in their financial goals while enrolled in training</li><li>
Teach weekly executive functioning classes, including but not limited to: goal setting, conflict resolution, time management, etc</li><li>
Teach weekly financial capabilities classes including but not limited to: income and expenses, budgeting 101, banking, assets and liabilities, debt, etc.</li><li>
Support with the promotion of Revolution Workshop program to community-based organizations by email, telephone, informationals and personal visits</li><li>
Assist in the screening and selecting of all participants for Revolution Workshop programs through in-person interviews</li><li>
Responsible for collecting all grant eligibility documentation and working with staff to input all data into various databases based on funding and program needs</li><li>
Maintain Revolution Workshop&rsquo;s internal trainee database (Salesforce), including but not limited to updates case notes on each individual</li><li>
Assist with the planning, development of Revolution Workshop programs and events</li><li>
Assist trainees in creating a budget while in training</li><li>
Attend occasional meetings and events such as fundraisers and staff meetings that may occur</li><li>
Work with the trainee to navigate financial assistance needed</li><li>

Requirements:

What you&rsquo;ll do:
Financial Oversight &amp; Reporting<ul><li>
Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.</li><li>
Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), general ledger, and compliance.</li><li>
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and cash flow reporting.</li></ul>
Accounts Receivable &amp; Billing Management<ul><li>
Generate and distribute accurate, timely invoices for commissions, rent, and other related fees.</li><li>
Ensure correct pricing and billing in accordance with approved agreements and company policies.</li><li>
Review accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up on outstanding balances to drive timely collection.</li></ul>
Account Reconciliation &amp; Credit Review<ul><li>
Process and apply credit card and electronic payments to customer accounts.</li><li>
Investigate and resolve misapplied, unidentified, or disputed payments.</li><li>
Perform account reconciliations as needed to ensure accuracy between billing, cash receipts, and the general ledger.</li><li>
Review and approve customer credit lines, extending or declining credit based on established guidelines.</li><li>
Monitor account activity to identify risk and ensure compliance with company credit policies.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Team Leadership &amp; Process Improvement</h3><ul><li>
Manage team of direct reports that work on our global/offshore team.</li><li>
Partner with internal departments to understand accounting transactions, resolve discrepancies, and address client requests for documentation or adjustments.</li><li>
Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team by setting clear goals and providing regular feedback.</li><li>
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.</li></ul>
What you&rsquo;ll need:<ul><li>
Associate&rsquo;s or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.</li><li>
Proven experience of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role; real estate or property management experience is a plus.</li><li>
Familiarity with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.</li><li>
Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.</li><li>
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li></ul>
