About What You&rsquo;ll Work On:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication, mental health and behavioral challenges.
Although autism can be diagnosed at any age, it is described as a &ldquo;developmental disorder&rdquo; because symptoms generally appear in the first 2 years of life. People with ASD may face a wide range of issues, which means that there is no single best treatment for ASD. Working closely with a health care provider like MeBe Family is an important part of finding the right combination of treatment and services. (Reference, National Institute of Mental Health)
As a Behavior Technician,<ul><li>
You'll teach and nurture behavioral, social, communication, and daily living skills in a 1:1 setting to kiddos with autism in their home or at MeBe&rsquo;s Learning Center clinic</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll follow treatment plans developed by BCBAs that help increase the kiddo's communication, self-help, social and play skills.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll relay info on your kiddos&rsquo; progress to BCBAs to keep them informed and assist with BCBA assessments.</li><li>
At the end of each session, you&rsquo;ll accurately record the kiddo&rsquo;s behavior analysis and progress in our data collection system Central Reach using your work assigned tablet.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll be responsible for clocking in, submitting your session notes and clocking out to align with strict ABA and Insurance provider regulations.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll help keep our workplace shipshape, safe, and super organized.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll help our kiddos with lunch breaks, bathroom breaks and diaper changing.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll help with projects and tasks as directed by your Site Director and Clinical Supervisors.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll voice questions, issues and concerns to your supervisors as appropriate and take co-ownership of treatment planning.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll help to build positive relationships with families while maintaining professional boundaries.</li><li>
You&rsquo;ll positively contribute to the MeBe Family culture.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Consistent availability from Monday through Friday. Part-time shifts available.</li><li>
Must be at least 18-years-old with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.</li><li>
RBT/ CBT certification preferred. Must obtain RBT/CBT certification within 60 days of employment (MeBe will help you!)</li><li>
Prefer a background in child care; teaching, counseling, babysitting.</li><li>
Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), squat, sit, stand, and/or run, (without reasonable accommodations), see with prescription lenses, and hear with hearing aids.</li><li>
Previous training in First Aid Certified and CPR is preferred</li><li>
Ability to pass a background check.</li><li>
Ability to work with computers.</li><li>
If residing in San Diego, AZ, or VA, must obtain CPR/BLS certification before working with clients</li><li>
Must have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent- required. A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in areas like Pediatrics or Human Development (Biology) is preferred.</li></ul>
