The starting wage for a Barista in Silver Lake is $18.96/hr. There is an extensive training program and a new hire generally should become full-bar capable within 90 days. After certification, the pay rate improves to $19.90/hr. The position is eligible for tips. These average $5.00 -7.00/hr. 
 
Baristas in our Los Angeles coffeebars are part of the IBEW Local 1220 union. After a probationary period, employees are required to join the union and pay monthly dues.

Work weeks are typically 40-48 hours a week, depending on what is needed each day. OT is paid based on a 5/8 work schedule.
