The position we are brewing:
Do you love premium Coffee &amp; Tea? Do you want to work for a socially responsible, guest service driven company? The Coffee Bean &amp; Tea Leaf&reg; Barista curates memorable experiences for our guests and the CBTL team daily. We are seeking friendly, dedicated, and creative Barista&rsquo;s to provide our guests with the world&rsquo;s finest quality coffee and tea experience. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to engage with guests while developing your skills in a variety of areas across the business. Many of our General Managers started off as Baristas!

<li>Be a warm host- guide guests through their coffee experience from beginning to end providing exceptional guest service throughout</li>

<li>Generate new guests. Many guests shop online these days; however, the store is where we meet many of our guests for the first time.</li>

Job Description:
Do you want to be an &ldquo;Intelli?&rdquo; Intelligentsia is a specialty coffee company, founded in Chicago in 1995, which means we just turned 30 years old! We do business differently to forge new paths in specialty coffee. We are pioneers in the direct trade model for buying coffee and creating coffee partnerships all over the world. We&rsquo;re passionate about coffee, and that means we pay a bit more for coffee in order to buy direct and create long-term, collaborative relationships with our producers that grow exceptional coffee.
The starting wage for a Barista in Silver Lake is $18.96/hr. There is an extensive training program and a new hire generally should become full-bar capable within 90 days. After certification, the pay rate improves to $19.90/hr. The position is eligible for tips. These average $5.00 -7.00/hr. 
 
Baristas in our Los Angeles coffeebars are part of the IBEW Local 1220 union. After a probationary period, employees are required to join the union and pay monthly dues.
