Job Description
Performs and coordinates all aspects of the clinical monitoring and site management process. Conducts remote or on-site visits to assess protocol and regulatory compliance and manages required documentation. Manages procedures and guidelines from different sponsors and/or monitoring environments (i.e. FSO, FSP, Government, etc.). Acts as a site processes specialist, ensuring that the trial is conducted in accordance with the approved protocol, ICH-GCP guidelines, applicable regulations and SOPs to guarantee subjects rights, well-being and data reliability. Ensures audit readiness. Develops collaborative relationships with investigational sites. Detailed tasks and responsibilities assigned to role are outlined in the task matrix.
The preferred candidate holds 1-3 years of clinical monitoring experience and must have experience in one of these therapeutic areas: Oncology, Respiratory (COPD/Nasal Polyps) Gen Med, or Vaccines. Travel is required for this role, including overnight stays.
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
Monitors investigator sites with a risk-based monitoring approach: applies root
cause analysis (RCA), critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify site
processes failure and corrective/preventive actions to bring the site into
compliance and decrease risks. Ensures data accuracy through SDR, SDV and
CRF review as applicable through on-site and remote monitoring activities.
Assess investigational product through physical inventory and records review.
Documents observations in reports and letters in a timely manner using
approved business writing standards. Escalates observed deficiencies and issues to clinical management expeditiously and follow all issues through to resolution.
May need to maintain regular contact between monitoring visits with investigative sites to confirm that the protocol is being followed, that previously identified issues are being resolved and that the data is being recorded in a timely manner. Conducts monitoring tasks in accordance with the approved monitoring plan. Participates in the investigator payment process. Ensures a shared responsibility with other project team members on issues/findings resolution. Investigates and follows-up on findings as applicable.
Participates in investigator meetings as necessary. Identifies potential investigators in collaboration with the client company to ensure the acceptability of qualified investigative sites. Initiates clinical trial sites according to the relevant procedures to ensure compliance with the protocol and regulatory and
ICH GCP obligations, making recommendations where warranted. Performs trial close out and retrieval of trial materials.
Ensures that required essential documents are complete and in place, according to ICH-GCP and applicable regulations. Conducts on-site file reviews as per project specifications.
Provides trial status tracking and progress update reports to the Clinical Team Manager (CTM) as required. Ensures study systems are updated per agreed study conventions (e.g. Clinical Trial Management System).
Facilitates effective communication between investigative sites, the client company and the PPD project team through written, oral and/or electronic contacts. 
 
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a life sciences related field or a Registered Nursing certification or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 1+ year as a clinical research monitor)
Valid driver's license where applicable. 
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. 
 
Working Conditions and Environment:
Work is performed in an office/ laboratory/clinical/and/or home office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. 
Frequent drives to site locations. Frequent travel, generally 60-80% but more for some individuals. May also include extended overnight stays. 
Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. 
Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. 
Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.
 
Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements

The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $66,800.00&ndash;$122,400.00.

<div>The Division of Clinical Research provides high-quality, efficient infrastructure support for all aspects of clinical protocol research at MD Anderson. Through our offices, we are devoted to the needs and protection of all those participating in or conducting clinical research while maintaining high ethical standards and compliance with all regulatory policies. 
 
This position will serve as the clinical subject matter expert within the Division of Clinical Research, providing oversight of specialized nursing-related procedures performed by clinical trial technicians. This licensed nurse role is responsible for developing, administering, and maintaining standardized training and competency programs for CVAD access and EKG acquisition. The position will ensure technician compliance with institutional, regulatory, and departmental requirements while promoting high-quality, consistent clinical research practices. The role will work closely with institutional Nurse Education, Cardiopulmonary, and other clinical partners to align training content and expectations with those provided to nursing staff. This role will also work with clinical research training team to design and implement research training programs which in turn will ensure the integrity of research data, secure compliance with institutional policies and procedures, and secure compliance with Federal Regulations and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines related to Clinical Research. 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience serving as a preceptor or clinical educator, previous experience as a research nurse, preferred oncology or clinical research certifications, and hands-on experience with CVAD blood draws. 
 
Minimum $101,000.00 - Midpoint $126,500.00 - Maximum $152,000.00 
Hourly Range: Minimum $48.56 - Midpoint $60.82 - Maximum $73.08 
The typical work schedule is: Hybrid; Onsite 3 - 4 times a per week

Position Summary:
Under close direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects.
Position Key Accountabilities:<ul><li>
Under close supervision, conducts research activities according to research protocol. Research activities may include some or all of the following: patient recruiting and screening, traditional laboratory experiments and activities, informatics, field interviewer recruiting, screening and training and/or animal laboratories.</li><li>
May maintain clean laboratory equipment and/or work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.</li><li>
Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed.</li><li>

Research Assistant I - Neurosurgery (Neuro Oncology)

<div>Seeking a Research Data Coordinator to join our Sarcoma Medical Oncology team. The Sarcoma Medical Oncology department (SMO) includes faculty and staff involved in patient care and in clinical, translational and basic research. Aiming to improve survival and quality of life, our team of highly specialized medical oncologists, physician-scientists, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and research nurses treat patients with localized and/or metastatic sarcoma. 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience working with data, working in a lab, working on low-risk studies, and/or patient consenting. The position will require at least 3 days a week on campus. The schedule is Monday - Friday days (8am-4:30pm; 7:30am-4pm)

KEY FUNCTIONS 
Assist in the coordination of data entry on all departmental clinical research studies:
 
<ul><li>Complete forms and comply with institutional, state, and/or federal regulations to capture study participant data from study initiation through termination.</li><li>Assist in coordinating and send outgoing material and correspondence to institutional, state, and/or federal agencies.</li><li>Prepare reports for the sponsoring agency, as specified by reporting requirements.
</li><li>Inform sponsors and collaborators of data status of protocols at least monthly in formal departmental protocol review meetings.</li></ul>
Assist in the coordination of the protocol administration of all departmental and multidisciplinary clinical trials for thoracic and head and neck medical oncology:
 
<ul><li>Assist in the coordination and administration of departmental clinical research protocols.</li><li>Maintain and update departmental protocol reference materials.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of scheduled status reports describing interim data, using the Patient Data Management System.</li></ul>
Assist in the development of and help maintain an organizational system to coordinate research meetings and research deadlines and inform department staff, as needed:
 
<ul><li>Schedule research meetings and complete all related details, including obtaining equipment, making conference room reservations, and inviting appropriate speakers and collaborators.</li><li>Assist in the coordination and preparation of a monthly update for departmental protocol review.</li><li>Coordinate monitor schedule with PI, research nurse, investigational pharmacy, and regulatory.</li></ul>
Assist in the coordination of protocol submissions to meet institutional protocol deadlines and with meeting other departmental paperwork deadlines:
 
<ul><li>Meet daily with the department coordinator or clinical research program coordinator to discuss current status of projects and to maintain a consistent dialog and united focus.</li><li>Anticipate and meet deadlines for protocol and grant processing.</li><li>Prompt staff to anticipate and meet deadlines for protocol processing.</li></ul>
Assist in data management, organization, and analysis of clinical research information:
 
<ul><li>Maintain the ability to enter data in Redcap, Prometheus or CORE on an emergency basis.</li><li>Assist physicians with data analysis, as needed.</li><li>Assist in the research record archival process.</li></ul>
