The PMHNP will play a key role in delivering evidence-based mental health care within an integrated primary care and behavioral health model.This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, care managers, and technology-enabled care teams to improve access to mental health services while helping patients achieve meaningful and sustainable health outcomes. Qualified candidates will also have the opportunity to serve as a Principal Investigator in clinical research studies, working alongside leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies to shape the next generation of psychiatric treatments.</p><p><b>ResponsibilitiesClinical Care</b></p><ul><li>Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.</li><li>Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health conditions including:</li><li>Depression</li><li>Anxiety disorders</li><li>Bipolar disorder</li><li>ADHD</li><li>PTSD</li><li>Obsessive-compulsive disorder</li><li>Substance use disorders</li><li>Sleep disorders</li><li>Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.</li><li>Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based guidelines and state regulations.</li><li>Monitor treatment effectiveness, medication adherence, and patient safety.</li><li>Perform suicide risk assessments and crisis interventions as needed.</li><li>Coordinate care with primary care providers and specialists to address whole-person health needs.</li><li>Administer and oversee a dedicated Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program for the treatment of treatment-resistant depression (TRD), utilizing advanced therapeutics including esketamine (Spravato) and other emerging interventional modalities. Ensure full compliance with REMS certification, patient monitoring protocols, and safety reporting requirements.</li><li>Expected hours per week (patient-facing): 25 &ndash; 30</li><li>Patients will be referred to this provider from an existing Primary Care practice, as well as a nearby Clinical research company</li></ul><p><b>Clinical Research</b></p><ul><li>Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) or sub-investigator on industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials in psychiatry and behavioral health.</li><li>Collaborate with leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies to evaluate novel therapeutics, devices, and care delivery models.</li><li>Oversee research protocol implementation, participant safety, and data integrity in accordance with GCP, IRB, and FDA guidelines.</li><li>Contribute to the development of Empower Health's research pipeline and help identify opportunities to expand clinical trial offerings.</li></ul><p><b>Integrated Behavioral Health</b></p><ul><li>Collaborate closely with internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and care coordinators.</li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and care planning.</li><li>Support behavioral health integration within primary care workflows.</li><li>Contribute to population health initiatives targeting behavioral health outcomes.</li></ul><p><b>Patient Experience</b></p><ul><li>Build trusted, long-term therapeutic relationships with patients and families.</li><li>Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and self-management strategies.</li><li>Promote shared decision-making and patient engagement.</li></ul><p><b>Innovation &amp; Quality Improvement</b></p><ul><li>Utilize Empower Health's technology platform, clinical decision support tools, and data analytics to optimize care delivery.</li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development.</li><li>Help shape innovative behavioral health services and care models.</li></ul><p><b>QualificationsRequired</b></p><ul><li>Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.</li><li>Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification.</li><li>Active and unrestricted Texas APRN license.</li><li>DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances.</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred.</li><li>Strong diagnostic, psychopharmacology, and clinical assessment skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li></ul><p><b>Preferred</b></p><ul><li>Experience in integrated behavioral health or collaborative care models.</li><li>Experience treating adult and geriatric populations.</li><li>Telepsychiatry experience.</li><li>Experience with REMS-certified therapeutics (e.g., esketamine/Spravato) or interventional psychiatry.</li><li>Prior clinical research experience, including PI or sub-investigator roles.</li><li>Familiarity with GCP, IRB processes, and FDA regulatory requirements.</li><li>Familiarity with value-based care and population health initiatives.</li><li>Interest in healthcare innovation, technology-enabled care, and clinical program development.</li></ul><p><b>Compensation &amp; Benefits</b></p><ul><li>Competitive base salary plus performance incentives - ($125K - $170K / year depending on experience)</li><li>Flexible scheduling options.</li><li>Hybrid and telehealth opportunities available.</li><li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance.</li><li>Paid time off and paid holidays.</li><li>CME allowance and paid professional development.</li><li>Malpractice insurance coverage.</li><li>Retirement plan participation.</li><li>Opportunities for leadership, program development, and equity participation.</li></ul><p><b>Why Join Empower Health?</b></p><p>At Empower Health, you'll practice psychiatry in an environment designed around clinicians and patients&mdash;not bureaucracy.
