The <b>Clinical Research Coordinator II</b> &ndash; Hematology Oncology is responsible for day-to-day coordination of interventional Phase I-III clinical trials and observational Cancer Control studies. The position will oversee all subject-level study workflows including screening patients for eligibility, performing enrollments, tracking patient visits, abstracting and reporting study data, coordinating research specimen collection and submission, and creating and maintaining research documentation. Collaborates with Data Coordination staff on the Clinical Research Support team.</div><div></div><div><br>
Reporting to the Clinical Research Program Manager, the coordinator will be part of the Hematology Oncology program. This position is key to the smooth operation of clinical trials and advancing research efforts at Fred Hutch.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Conduct daily clinical operations of assigned research studies in accordance with study protocols, regulatory and GCP guidelines, and institutional policy.</li><li>
Develop and maintain tools for study implementation, including data collection tools, reference materials and specific study orders; revise and utilize tools as necessary.</li><li>
Create and disseminate study-related educational content for internal and external audiences to ensure safe and accurate protocol implementation.</li><li>
Coordinate patient enrollment and participation by reviewing study candidates&rsquo; medical records for eligibility, initiating enrollment, ensuring informed consent, and maintaining accurate enrollment records.
</li><li>Schedule patient clinic visits and on-going study visits; ensure administrative compliance with study protocols with respect to clinical procedures, laboratory tests and other patient activities; may administer study questionnaires, ensure drug self-administration accountability with patients and perform non-clinical ECGs.</li><li>
Complete clinical requisition forms as instructed, assemble kits for patient visits, transport laboratory samples and ensure samples are processed and shipped according to study guidelines; track and maintain research supplies.</li><li>
Identify, track and confirm billable activities for patients; work with internal partners to obtain and submit budget and billing information; may assist in reviewing patient charges to ensure billing compliance.</li><li>
Act as protocol liaison with clinical teams, patients, and providers on study related topics.</li><li>
Prepare and coordinate monitoring visits and respond to queries and other requests from study monitors, following up with and resolving any issues that may arise.</li><li>
Maintain thorough knowledge in the field through attending related project meetings and symposia, reading related literature and maintaining professional associations.</li><li>

The Registered Nurse</b><b> &ndash; Clinical Nurse Coordinator</b> is a member of an interdisciplinary care team. This role provides patient centric care and is primarily responsible for nursing assessment and diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Registered Nurse - Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Northwest Clinic

<div><p><b>Description</b></p>
<p>The Transplant Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical aspects of organ transplantation as applied to the transplant recipient. These activities will include those involved in the evaluation, work-up and pre-transplant and/or post-transplant medical and surgical care of potential recipients. The coordinator will be actively involved in the development of the program and act as a liaison to referring physicians and dialysis centers. This individual will have responsibility for educational administrative and technical tasks related to clinical transplantation. The Transplant Coordinator is expected to participate in 24-hour on call (from home) coverage. Assisting in maintaining records (written and computerized) and providing information necessary for complete patient care is an important aspect of this position.</p>

<li>Rotates coordinator patient call for patient care.</li>
<li>Facilitates communication between transplant clinic and nursing units (e.g., protocol/procedure changes, medical management updates, new treatments and medications, etc.).</li>
<li>Acts as liaison between referring physicians, dialysis units, and the organ transplant program in order to facilitate patient workups and keeps referring centers and physicians involved in our program.</li>
<li>Ensures that problems that are related to patient care, which arise related to referring centers or individuals, are immediately addressed in a satisfactory manner whether directly or in conjunction with the director.</li>
<li>May be asked to coordinate some transplant program conferences.</li>
<li>Coordinates new patient evaluation conferences for weekly review of candidates. Responsible for presenting completed data for review and discussion by the entire team.</li>
<li>Organizes weekly patient review conferences; review of important data, difficult cases and interesting cases from the previous week by the entire transplant team.</li>
<li>Coordinates patient service activities and record keeping.</li>
<li>Oversees some clerical personnel. Assists as necessary in scheduling procedures, admissions and outpatient appointments.</li>
<li>Assists data coordinator and director in preparing and maintaining clinical and statistical reports for the program. These reports may relate to regional and national networks as well as program tracking of workups and outcome data and clinical research protocols.</li>
<li>Oversees new patient listing and maintains relations with the Organ Procurement Agency.Coordinates hospital activity related to patient care (e.g., discharge teaching of all transplant patients).</li>
<li>Coordinates operating room activity related to transplant services. Includes protocol development and data collection required during operative cases.</li>
<li>Coordinates hospital resources which affect patient welfare (e.g., initiates referrals to appropriate departments such as home health care, social work etc.).</li>
<li>Assures the rapid and accurate transmission of all information to outside hospitals/facilities which become involved in the care of transplant patients.</li>
<li>Participates in educational and professional activities.</li>
<li>Conducts, organizes and participates in programs for professional education, including inservice training for nursing personnel caring for transplant patients.</li>
<li>Participates in and/or conducts public education and public relations programs related to organ transplantation in order to increase public awareness of transplantation.</li>
<li>Acts to advise the director on ethical, legal and social issues as they relate to program development.</li>
<li>Participates in at least one national or international educational meeting related to the field of transplantation and/or the North American Transplant Coordinator&rsquo;s Organization annually.</li>
<li>Directly involved in all protocol evaluations which pertain to patient care.</li>
</ul><p><b>Required qualifications:</b></p>
<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Nursing degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.</li>
<li>Applicants without a BSN degree must actively pursue and attain a BSN within five years of hire. Continued employment by Swedish beyond five years is contingent upon attaining the BSN degree. Registered Nurses employed by Swedish prior to December 1, 2012 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.</li>
