Track plant performance, including rejection vs recovery impacts, and ensure outcomes are accurately reflected in scheduling, allocations, and settlement.</li><li>
Interpret and apply customer contract terms to scheduling, allocations, and settlements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and accurate volume distribution.</li><li>
Monthly sign-off, reconciliation, and resolution of imbalances on Operational Balancing Agreements (OBAs), Transportation Agreements, and other Contractual imbalances on a daily and monthly basis.</li><li>
Review and monitor point flows using SCADA.</li><li>
Ability to be available when pipeline emergencies require attention with a possibility of relocating during storm or similar event.</li><li>
Ability to work on weekends, evenings, or holidays when necessary, although typically handled by an after-hours team.</li><li>

Summary</b></p><p>
The Commercial Risk team plays a critical role in supporting Marathon&rsquo;s Supply and Trading functions by providing independent oversight of market risk and trading performance. The team delivers value through the measurement and reporting of market risk associated with commercial trading and hedging activities, as well as through in-depth financial analysis and reporting. This role is essential to understanding daily trading performance and ensuring the organization captures value from its supply and trading operations, leveraging strong financial expertise and commercial acumen.</p><p></p><p>
The team ensures that financial results are aligned with prevailing market conditions, offering an independent perspective on trading outcomes and confirming that activities remain within defined risk limits and governance frameworks.</p><p></p><p>
As part of the Commercial Risk team, this role will support the expansion of the Power trading platform. The Commercial Power team is undergoing a strategic shift, transitioning from reliance on third-party providers to managing power trading activities in-house. This transformation includes expanding the commercial team and partnering with IT to implement an Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system to support daily transaction management.</p><p></p><p>
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Risk Analyst with demonstrated experience in Power Trading, either within a Front Office or Middle Office environment, to support this growing area and contribute to the continued evolution of the platform.</p><p></p><p><b>
Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Partner with IT to support the design and development of the Power trading platform, including implementation of the Power ETRM system.</li><li>
Design and implement the risk reporting framework for daily monitoring of Power trading activities.</li><li>
Perform daily financial analysis of system-generated mark-to-market (MtM) trading results and produce reports on priced positions and portfolio performance.</li><li>
Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including Accounting, Refining Operations, Schedulers, and Traders.</li><li>
Develop and enhance processes and controls to ensure accurate and timely priced position reporting.</li><li>
Validate inputs to MtM calculations for accuracy and compliance with established policies; test and onboard new data sources to improve efficiency and data quality.</li><li>
Develop, maintain, and enhance analytical reports, and perform ad hoc analysis in support of senior management.</li><li>
Provide clear, concise explanations of risk exposures and key drivers impacting portfolio performance and related strategic decisions.</li><li>
Support team initiatives and ad hoc projects, including internal and external audit requests.</li><li>
Partner with Accounting and Finance (BP&amp;A) to reconcile and explain variances between risk management and financial reporting.</li><li>
Maintain and deliver weekly and monthly analytical reporting packages.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Education and Experience</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline required.</li><li>
Four (4) or more years of experience in analysis of financial results and reporting and/or experience in refinery or supply operations.</li><li>
2+ years of demonstrated experience trading or risk managing Power trading activities.</li><li>
Ability to use and create Power BI reports preferred.</li><li>
Preferred experience setting up Power related ETRM.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
