The Banner newsroom is looking for a social media intern to join us in our newsroom this summer. The social media intern will be responsible for creating a variety of social media content, including vertical videos, graphic posts and text posts. There will be a strong emphasis on vertical video, which is one of the hallmarks of the Banner's digital presence. The social media intern will join Banner staff to report in the field, record videos, edit videos and to help post them.</p>

The social media intern should be comfortable appearing on camera and interviewing people on the street. They should be skilled at recording on an iPhone and know how to edit using CapCut or Adobe Premier. Experience in lighting, audio or animation is a plus.</p>

Social media content will be drawn from Banner reporting, which may include original reporting by the intern. Interns will be expected to pitch their own ideas and write scripts with strong hooks. The majority of assignments in this role will revolve around social media &mdash; not written stories.</p>
