A Day In The Life 
We are embarking on a strategic migration of our on-premises Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse to Azure, and we are seeking a motivated Data Engineer to play a key role in this transformation. The first phase of this initiative will be a complete lift-and-shift of our existing environment into Azure, followed by refactoring and modernizing many of our applications to fully leverage Azure-native tools and services. In this role, you will help transition legacy ETL processes currently built in C# and SQL stored procedures orchestrated through Windows Task Scheduler into scalable, maintainable pipelines using technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Functions. Responsibilities<ul><li>
Own the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data from multiple source systems into our centralized data platform</li><li>
Design and implement dimensional data models (fact and dimension tables, star/snowflake schemas) in collaboration with the data architecture team, ensuring models meet performance, scalability, and usability requirements</li><li>
Write performant, well-tested SQL and Python transformations for complex data processing workloads, proactively optimizing for cost and execution time</li><li>
Understanding and ability to build medallion architecture within a Data Lake</li></ul><ul><li>
Build and maintain robust data quality frameworks including validation rules, anomaly detection, alerting, and reconciliation processes that ensure data accuracy at scale</li><li>
Work hands-on with our cloud data platform (Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Services, or similar) to architect and deliver production-grade data solutions</li><li>
Partner directly with product engineering teams to deeply understand source system schemas, data flows, and business logic across Quorum&rsquo;s Upstream, Measurement, and Midstream product lines, and translate that understanding into well-structured data assets</li></ul><ul><li>
Drive improvements to data governance practices including data catalog maintenance, documentation standards, lineage tracking, and metadata management</li><li>
Lead technical design discussions for new data pipeline and modeling work, evaluating trade-offs and recommending approaches to the team</li><li>
Troubleshoot complex data pipeline failures and data integrity issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing durable fixes</li><li>

Requirements 
<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field</li><li>
2&ndash;4 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related data-focused role with production deployment experience</li><li>
Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, performance tuning, CTEs, window functions, and working with large-scale datasets</li><li>
Solid programming skills in Python, including experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., PySpark, Pandas, or similar)</li><li>
Demonstrated experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines in a production environment, including error handling, idempotency, and monitoring</li><li>
Working knowledge of dimensional data modeling (star schema, slowly changing dimensions, conformed dimensions) and the ability to translate business requirements into data models</li><li>
