 About This Opportunity...
 
 
 
 The HR Generalist will serve as an HR Business partner and trusted resource to associates and people managers, primarily supporting the New York Buying Office. Operating in a generalist capacity, this role provides hands-on HR guidance across a range of areas including associate relations, manager coaching, policy interpretation, and day-to-day inquiries.
 
 
 With a strong focus on associate engagement and culture-building, the HR Generalist plays a key role in fostering a positive workplace environment and driving creative, people-centered solutions that contribute to organizational success.
 
 
 The base salary range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location.  What You Will Do And What You Will Learn...
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Provide HR support to assigned client group, including but not limited to: Investigating and resolving Associate concerns, providing guidance and coaching to managers on handling performance concerns

 You will also serve as key point of contact and counsel for Associates and Managers on a broad range of HR policies

 Act as trusted source of information and as counsellor to Associates, by playing a front-line role in answering HR questions and escalating issues as needed

 Deliver training as required to Associates and Managers on using the Kronos ("MyTime") system to ensure that Associates are paid accurately

 Lead onboarding and offboarding of Associates - Manage Change of Status (COS) process to maintain accurate employee records and ensure final pay is delivered in compliance with State law
 </li>

 Partner with Workforce Planning and HR Operations teams to ensure Org Charts and PeopleSoft records are accurate and well maintained
 </li>

 Meet with all New Hires during their Onboarding to check in and ensure a positive Associate experience. Flag any concerns or trends in feedback
 </li>

 Partner with Leaders to ensure that New Hires are given all the necessary resources and feedback (i.e. 90-day Reviews) to ensure they are set up for success

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in civil engineering is required.</li><li>
5+ years of infrastructure engineering design experience is preferred; drainage experience is a plus.</li><li>
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required; PE license or able to obtain within 6 months of hire is preferred.</li><li>
Previous software experience with MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads Designer, and/or Civil 3D is a plus.</li><li>
Willing to work independently and with others as a team member.</li><li>
Interest in developing, coaching, and mentoring junior staff.</li><li>
Familiarity of working with Local Design Services Agreement (LDSA) infrastructure projects.</li><li>
Previous NYSDOT, NYSTA, and/or Locally Administered Federal Aid Project experience is a plus.</li><li>
Active membership of a professional practice organization or willing to join is encouraged.</li><li>
Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.</li></ul><div>

 The estimated salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $140,000 annually.
