 Clinical Competency - competency in performing EKG, phlebotomy technique, centrifuge, handling, storing and shipping of specimens. Clinical training and didactic competency tests may be required to perform basic procedures as part of position expectations. In house training and certification will be provided. Other trainings and competencies may be included as required.

 Reporting and Analysis- Researches, compiles and consolidates data and conducts preliminary analyzes to data collected for presentation to sponsoring and regulatory agencies. Provides reports to all necessary parties (e.g., the principal investigator, sponsoring agency, etc.) on the progress of the study as needed. Formulates, prepares database and generates preliminary measurement reports for review by PI. May complete assessments on study subjects/patients following protocol (with proper training); continues to follow-through with items and patients as part of the research study.

 Data Management Responsible for collecting and auditing patient information for the research project(s). This may include abstraction of data from the patient chart (e.g., laboratory or diagnostic test results, surgical/radiation treatments delivered, adverse drug reactions, etc.); abstraction of data for publications, or data collection from outside physicians' offices. Audits and manages data from and into the database. Prepares forms and reports, compiles and analyses data, statistics, and other materials for reports. Conducts study visits, obtains and documents information within the time frame specified.

 Lab Duties Able to perform basic lab duties and more advanced duties. Maintain a lab notebook and organize lab data to present at weekly lab meetings. Lab duties include running experiments and processing samples. Maintain the organization of the lab, including supply ordering and maintenance of lab equipment/cleaning logs.

 Decision Making and Problems Solving - Combines and evaluates information and data to make decisions about relative importance of information and choosing the best solution to solve problems. Resolves complex situations and refers non-solved issues and questions with recommendation to supervisor. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator. 
 
The Center for Psychedelic Medicine (CPM) at NYU Langone Health is seeking a Research Coordinator to lead study coordination in an ongoing NIH funded Phase 2, randomized controlled clinical trial for Opioid Use Disorder. The Research Coordinator will also participate in other clinical trials within CPM as needed and work collaboratively with the Research Project Manager (RPM), the Principal Investigator (PI), and the study team to meet study goals. The Research Coordinator will coordinate day-to-day study operations and participant activities. The Research Coordinator will also be responsible for tracking study milestones, managing participant recruitment, and coordinating all study activities in conjunction with the PI and other team members. The candidate will be expected to work with a high level of independence. 


Job Responsibilities:

Study Coordination: Works with the RPM and PI to develop study operations and achieve study goals, including participant recruitment and retention targets. Contributes to development of study-specific SOPs. Coordinates study activities through open communication with research team, RPM, PI, clinical staff and site staff. 


Participant Recruitment: Collaborate with Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) site staff on recruitment efforts. Review candidates for eligibility, completing necessary questionnaires, assessments and data entry. Maintains patient confidentiality. 


Research Visits: Conduct participant study visits, which includes scheduling, conducting informed consent, coordinating with other study team members, completing and administering assessments and other study procedures at baseline and follow-up visits, and coordinating subject reimbursement. Assist licensed clinicians in conducting study-specific visits and interventions. 


Participant Tracking: Track participant flow through the study; update tracking logs in an accurate and timely manner; schedule participants for study visits; send retention letters as needed. 


Data Management: Review inputted data; resolve all data queries; obtain missing data; document all data accurately and according to protocol. Manage and delegate data entry to junior staff and volunteers as necessary. 


Regulatory Oversight: Management of study binders, and IRB records. Work with IRB staff to create, submit and modify IRB submissions as necessary. 


Reporting and Communication: Communicates with the RPM and PI in a timely manner regarding protocol deviations, safety events, data queries, and study supplies. Establishes internal and external weekly team meeting and shares status of assignments and follow-up of action items. 


Protocol Compliance: Ensure that study activities are carried out in accordance with the protocol, HIPAA and GCP, including but not limited to participant research visits, follow-up, and required documentation. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of study rationale, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and procedures associated with the study. 


Budget: Responsible for issuing participant reimbursement and compensation payments as per study protocol. Will maintain participant payment logs and review for accuracy and compliance. 


Oversight of junior team members: Assist with oversight of junior team members/volunteer training, tasks, and coordination of volunteer schedules. 


Other: Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
