Job Summary</b></p>
As an Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist I, you will assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization/electrophysiology laboratory. You will work closely with physicians and nursing staff to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other related procedures by overseeing a variety of cardiac imaging procedures utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to capture high-quality images of the heart during invasive cardiac interventions, along with other direct patient care activities. You will also be responsible for preparing and stocking the lab before and after procedures, setting sterile instrument fields, and maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques.<br>

<ul><li>Ensures the safe, accurate, and effective operation of complex diagnostic and interventional equipment in accordance with established guidelines.</li><li>Demonstrates competency in Cath Lab and/or EP Lab technologies, procedures, and devices across services, including but not limited to cardiac, vascular, structural, and/or electrophysiology services.</li><li>Applies advanced knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease states to perform hemodynamic measurements and calculations, interpret EKGs, and apply clinical judgment in support of diagnostic and interventional procedures.</li><li>Maintains ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professional conduct. Follows the Universal Protocol to confirm patient identity and verify the correct procedure. Educates and orients patients, addressing both physical and emotional needs.</li><li>Monitors, records, and analyzes ECG and hemodynamic data; performs calculations; assesses patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, including high-acuity care and ACLS response.</li><li>Performs baseline, intra-procedure, and post-procedure patient assessments. Maintains sterile technique, infection control, radiation safety, and patient positioning. For appropriately licensed individuals, assists with fluoroscopy, image acquisition, and post-processing analysis.</li><li>Manages post-procedure care, including access site management and hemostasis; monitors recovery, provides discharge education, documents care, and independently escalates clinical concerns to the provider team.</li><li>Completes accurate and timely procedural, equipment, and inventory documentation. Assists with room turnover, restocking, quality improvement, and research initiatives. Job Summary</b></p>
Reporting directly to the Clinical Director of Breast Imaging with a dotted line to the Division Chief and/or Lead Interpreting Physician (LIP), incumbent independently and competently prepares, reviews, and maintains all pertinent records and required submissions to maintain compliance with state, federal and accrediting body regulations. Must be organized and solution oriented, and exemplify professional, respectful, and inclusive behavior in all interactions. Actively participates in and, at times, leads departmental quality initiatives. Assumes responsibility for designated tasks as assigned. Establishes rapport with technical staff who perform daily/weekly/monthly/biannual/annual QC testing; creates monthly schedule to review and update all site-specific QC records. CO<br>

Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on vendor/state/federal QC testing recommendations for mammography equipment and reading workstation monitors. Reviews recommendations regularly to ensure continued content knowledge with intent to communicate and educate leadership and staff. Establishes quarterly QC review/meeting schedule with Clinical Director, Physicist and LIP, prepared to present updated documentation. Centralizes, monitors, and ensures all Radiologist and Physicist CME, Technologist CEU, licensure, read or performance counts, training verifications, initial and continuing qualifications, and completed equipment surveys are on file and consistently up to date to ensure continuous qualification to practice. Communicates promptly and proactively to individual and respective leadership if qualification is in jeopardy or disrupted. PO<br>

Prepares new and re-accrediting applications for submission to the accrediting body, working with LIP and Clinical Director to ensure image quality and accuracy in application prior to submission. Coordinates specific submission with Clinical Director to ensure all required fees are promptly submitted. CO<br>

Uses Hospital and Radiology Information Systems to prepare statistics at request of LIP or other Breast Imaging Division Radiologist and for presentation of Medical Audit at annual state/MQSA inspection. Also uses these systems proficiently when working as mammographer. PO<br>

Maintains records of all physicist acceptance testing, annual and new equipment surveys, as well as all vendor service records for all equipment, including reading workstation monitors. CO<br>

 Participates in meetings with purpose to present and educate regularly on regulatory requirements and findings. CO<br>

Lunder 4 is a high volume, level one trauma unit as well as having scheduled surgeries. Lunder 4 incorporates the technologies of biplane hybrid suites for interventional radiology imaging, Cat scan, as well as intra-operative MRI.

The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of solid tumor medical oncology patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and development and implementation of appropriate plans of care across the trajectory of illness for patients.<br>

In addition to providing direct and indirect patient care, the hematology oncology PA serves as a role model for professional advanced practice and participates in the professional development of the team through teaching, committee involvement or quality and safety initiatives. The hematology oncology PA will provide thorough, compassionate, culturally sensitive clinical care and should demonstrate operational flexibility and strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills in order to work effectively with other members of the team.

<ul><li>Performs comprehensive histories and physical examinations.</li><li>Completes high quality and timely documentation.
</li><li>Participates in scheduled encounters, maintains capacity for urgent care for the evaluation and management of complex oncologic symptoms or treatment toxicities and improves access for newly diagnosed hematology oncology patients.</li><li>Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.</li><li>Ensues appropriate diagnostic procedures occur in a timely manner through careful coordination with other services such as radiology, facilitating various clinic appointments, communicating with patients regarding test results, and providing coverage for the team</li><li>Performs (oversees/assures completion of) specialized procedures particular to the select medical oncology population mutually agreed upon with the supervising physician.</li><li>Follows and manages patients (in collaboration with MD) enhancing continuity of care across the trajectory of illness.</li><li>Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings across the trajectory of illness.</li><li>Facilitates patient movement through the system and efficient use of resources through interdepartmental collaboration.</li><li>Facilitates and co-manages communications between physicians, patients, family, and staff.</li><li>Orders medications and writes prescriptions, inclusive of standard of care antineoplastics and oncologic investigational new drugs according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.</li><li>Participates in research efforts to advance knowledge and to promote research-based practice.</li><li>Appreciates the complex medical environments of cancer patients including, but not limited to, those with advanced malignancy or organ dysfunction and the risk for complex drug interactions.</li><li>Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current health care practice/research. Maintains the standards and educational requirements specific to the position and licensure. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:<br>
<ul><li>Minimum 2 years&rsquo; current PA experience caring for an Oncology focused patient population required. Experience in breast, GI and thoracic malignancies is strongly preferred. Experience in an ambulatory practice is strongly preferred.
</li><li>Minimum 1 year experience signing antineoplastic orders strongly preferred.</li><li>Proficiency with Epic and EMRs strongly preferred.
</li><li>EPIC Inbasket management, telemedicine experience strongly preferred.
</li><li>Familiarity with clinical trials strongly preferred.</li></ul><br>
