<div><ul><li>Preparing and presenting budget, decision-support materials and program proposals to leadership, division managers, department directors, City Budget Office, Mayor&rsquo;s Office, City Council and other partners. This includes proposals for the City&rsquo;s biennial budget process and responses to the Mayor&rsquo;s Office and City Council requests for changes to planned or new investments.</li><li>
Providing financial guidance on budget constraints, revenue collections, financial policies and procedures to division directors and program leaders to support sound fiscal management and decision-making.</li><li>
Leading and supporting financial planning, budgeting, and fund management activities, including monitoring expenditures, revenues, and program performance.</li><li>

Salary: The full salary range for this position is $51.88 - $77.82 per hour.

The Academic Advisor reports to the Director of Advising and Administration. In conjunction with members of the Student-Athlete Academic Services staff, the Academic Advisor will provide academic advising, academic coordination, and learning/skill-building strategies for student-athletes on assigned teams. Specifically, the advisor will assist with all aspects of course registration, major declaration, degree and graduation planning, and career exploration and development. Additionally, the advisor will guide student-athletes in becoming active and independent learners to help them achieve their academic goals at the University of Washington.
The Academic Advisor works with routine and specially admitted freshmen, as well as students requiring more active support within the student-athlete population. They will develop individualized learning plans and track and monitor academic progress. Advisors work closely with departmental advisors to ensure timely degree progress and graduation for each assigned student-athlete. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting with NCAA continuing eligibility reporting and documentation on a quarterly basis. Furthermore, the advisor will support events and programs in the student-athlete development area and serve as a liaison with departments and units across campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Advising :
<ul><li>Conduct one-on-one registration appointments with assigned student-athletes, quarterly. Develop, coordinate, and implement individualized academic support plans for assigned student-athletes. After consultation with the student-athlete and coaches, advisors take the lead on program development in collaboration with the assigned learning specialist. Conduct academic team meetings and coaches&rsquo; educational meetings. Consult with student-athletes as issues arise during the quarter and devise action plans. Refer to appropriate campus and community resources as needed including academic, compliance, and mental health support.
</li><li>Keep abreast of all the University&rsquo;s undergraduate programs and support services including major requirements. Educate students on grading options, satisfactory/non-satisfactory, dropping courses, and other academic policies/procedures. Help student-athletes track graduation requirements and plan classes for timely graduation. Track graduation plans and statistics by sport and communicate with coaching staffs.
</li><li>Work closely with campus departments, Undergraduate Academic Affairs, Office of the Registrar, Admissions Office and other student affairs units to provide resources and information to students and staff. Present academic informational sessions and programs as needed.
</li></ul>Academic Coordination/Learning Resources :
<ul><li>Assign and monitor content and tutoring for the assigned student-athlete population.
</li><li>Develop coping strategies to empower students to succeed academically at the collegiate level. Prepare and present curricula that strengthen note-taking, reading, test-taking, and time-management skills during scheduled weekly student appointments and during office hours with assigned student caseload.
</li><li>Facilitate and maintain relationships between UW faculty and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to collect information on class preparation, test performance, and student conduct.
