3. 11. May perform appointment scheduling or the booking of surgeries/procedures, or works in conjunction with Surgical Coordinator verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admissions and consent forms.

Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Acquaint yourself with all new and established patients, providing plan/setting expectations for visit and guide patients to examination rooms</li><li>
Assist the physician with documentation of the patients&rsquo; medical record</li><li>
Accompanies the physician into the exam room to transcribe the history of the examination as given by the patient and the physician</li><li>
Under the direction of the physician, transcribes the impression and plan, results of tests, prescriptions, and orders</li><li>
Documents and aids in any procedural set that may be performed by the physician</li><li>
Document all history and testing information accurately and consistently</li><li>
Summarize all exam details from physician into patients&rsquo; electronic chart, including but not limited to: proper charting of examination, additions to chief complaint, physician assessment and recommendations for treatment</li><li>
Other duties as assigned or directed by your supervisor</li></ul>
Required Qualifications:<ul><li>
Experience as a Medical Scribe is required. Ophthalmology and retina experience preferred.</li><li>
You should be able to communicate professionally, be comfortable working in a medical environment, be highly organized, have a strong customer service background, possess excellent computer and organizational skills, and champion a welcoming/friendly demeanor</li><li>
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Medical Terminology</li><li>
Working knowledge of eye anatomy, retina disease, and ocular medications</li><li>
Basic to advanced computer skills required</li><li>
Strong written and verbal communication</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Associate Degree or higher/ equivalent working experience</li></ul>
Salary: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience

Job Description</h1>
The Scribe Tech is responsible for:
<ul><li>Capturing accurate and detailed documentation of the patient visit into the EMR in a timely manner.</li><li>
Assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.</li><li>
Assisting site management with directing patient flow, inventory, and following up on labs.</li><li>
Ensuring site lab compliance with Department of Health (DOH) Regulations.</li><li>
Provide unparalleled customer service to our patients, adhering to established protocols and work processes, and successfully managing volume without ever compromising quality.</li></ul><ul><li>This is a great opportunity for those interested in CNA, MA, EMT, or Paramedic careers

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
The essential functions of a Scribe Tech are:<ul><li>
Assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures, which may include but is not limited to phlebotomy, Urine Drug Screens, lab processing, fit testing, rapid point of care testing, UA, EKG, procedure set ups, etc.</li><li>
Ensuring Department of Health (DOH) compliance of site lab and exam rooms which may include but is not limited to logbook maintenance, checking for expired medications and supplies, proper handling of specimens etc.</li><li>
Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays or other facilities on site as needed.</li><li>
Ability to maintain quick pace in fast paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shift (8-12 hours except for meals/break time).</li><li>
Facilitating any necessary diagnostic tests (e.g., CT, MRI, ultrasounds, etc.) and referrals to medical specialists for follow-up care via Aftercare</li><li>
Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.</li><li>
Helping maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.</li><li>
Ensuring the site is fully stocked with supplies.</li><li>
Providing compassionate care to our patients.</li></ul>
 Qualifications
A candidate&rsquo;s qualifications will include:<ul><li>
High School Degree or GED, Undergraduate degree a plus</li><li>
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy certifications a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.</li><li>
Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.</li><li>
Flexible with full-time work schedule including a weekend day.</li><li>
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
English language (speaking and writing) skills required</li><li>
High attention to detail.</li><li>
Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve.</li><li>
Team player.</li><li>
Knowledge of third-party payor requirements preferred.</li><li>
Strong aptitude for detail, and ability to work independently, required.</li><li>
Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills required.</li><li>
Computer Proficiency</li><li>

Physical requirements
The job may require at times to lift light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical/facility supplies) to assist team members. Job also requires the ability to maintain a quick pace in fast paced urgent care medical facility for the duration of scheduled shift minus meal/break time.

Pay Rate: $20.58 per hour 
The provided compensation amount is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
