Job Description 
MS NOW is looking for a video podcast editor to join our team. This role will work across the unit to support multiple projects and ensure high technical standards by editing tape across a variety of video platforms (from longform horizonal podcasts to &ldquo;Reels-style&rdquo; vertical videos), audio mixing, and filming.
This role starts early in the production process: helping to set up the tech for remote and in-person interviews, troubleshoot connection and technical problems, and positioning talent and guests to ensure the highest quality recording. This person will also ingest audio and video files, plus prepare edit sessions for the team of producers. In the final stages of the process, it is this person&rsquo;s responsibility to ensure podcasts are beautifully cut and delivered to spec.
The video podcast editor should be extremely detail-oriented, while also knowing how to work fast. It&rsquo;s essential to have a mastery of advanced video and engineering techniques and be comfortable troubleshooting when something goes wrong. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable collaborating with our audio engineer on pieces, as the majority of MS NOW&rsquo;s podcasts live on both audio-first and video-first platforms.
An interest in news and politics is vital to the success of this role, as is knowledge of journalistic best practices. The video engineer will report to the Senior Production Manager and collaborate daily with producers and other team members.

Job Description 
Role Purpose: 
News 4 New York and Telemundo 47 are looking for an Assignment Desk Editor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working in a duopoly environment, coordinating the teams around news stories, as well as reporter and field crew resources. Providing status of coverage to management will be critical, as well as establishing a network of contacts and sources across the New York DMA.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Break stories, work contacts and react quickly and aggressively to breaking news. Gather information for newscasts, set up stories in advance and assist newscast producer in all aspects of the show.</li><li>
Monitor police and emergency scanners and electronic/printed sources for news.</li><li>
Enterprise story ideas and work with reporters and producers to develop stories. Conceive and execute news coverage and make front line editorial decisions on a story-by-story basis. Develop story ideas and clearly articulate them.</li><li>
Participate in daily planning meetings. Coordinate with other departments to complete stories and projects. Create and coordinate short-range planning to meet department editorial goals.</li><li>
Facilitate the news gathering process and ensure comprehensive coverage of all news stories. Dispatch crews and information in a timely and organized manner. Coordinate reporters, photographers, and other personnel to cover stories.</li><li>
Set up and coordinate live remotes inside and outside the building. Multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.</li><li>
Monitor journalistic and editorial elements of newsgathering in the field. Communicate with production staff on the status of coverage and stories. Coordinate reporters, field crews, and assignment desk staff. -Communicate with production staff and management on the status of coverage and stories. Coordinate with other Assignment Editors and the Managing Editor for carry-over of stories from day to day.</li><li>
Monitor blogs, social media, and local papers for potential stories. Compile a list of possible stories to be followed up on by news staff.</li><li>
Develop and cultivate contacts within the community for news stories. Establish network of contacts and sources across the New York area. Cooperate with and support NBC News, Newschannel and other NBC Owned stations.</li><li>
Coordinate with the station&rsquo;s digital team to fulfill their real-time needs for information and video feeds in full parity with the linear newsroom</li><li>
Assists with any pending visual elements for reporters alongside others newsroom personnel</li><li>
FOR WNJU &ndash; distributing stories of the day to affiliates and Latin America</li>
Salary Range <li>- 80k-100k</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Journalism or Communications.</li><li>
At least 4 years&rsquo; experience including: work in a broadcast news environment, coordinating assignments, generating story ideas.</li><li>
Two years&rsquo; experience as an Assignment Editor.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.</li></ul>

 The Wall Street Journal is seeking a sports reporter to write memorable features and break news, across the world of sports, delivering consistent, insightful and punchy stories.
 
 
 We are looking for a general assignment sports reporter who is excited to find new ways of looking at the richest leagues around&mdash;whether it be for the casual fan or the diehard loyalists. The remit will include coverage across the major North American Leagues and the Summer and Winter Olympics, plus opportunities to dig in on other international sports.
 
 
 The ideal candidate will be someone with a deep knowledge of sports and an intense curiosity about how athletes and teams succeed or fail. The job will also include a steady stream of ambitious features and breaking news. This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the most creative sports journalists in the country and take one of our core strengths to new heights.
