We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Pediatric Gastroenterology team. This role is focused on our Ambulatory Constipation Clinic, where you will lead the evaluation and management of patients with chronic functional constipation.
As the primary point of contact for these families, you will initiate comprehensive care plans and provide the consistent follow-up necessary to achieve successful long-term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Clinical Assessment: Lead comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients, including detailed history-taking, physical examinations, and the review of prior diagnostic studies.</li><li>
Evidence-Based Management: Diagnose and manage functional constipation using current clinical guidelines, initiating both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.</li><li>
Individualized Care: Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each child&rsquo;s needs, including dietary interventions and behavioral modification strategies.</li><li>
Patient Monitoring: Oversee patient progress and adjust regimens through a combination of in-person and telehealth follow-up visits.</li><li>
Care Escalation: Identify red-flag symptoms and collaborate closely with attending gastroenterologists to escalate care when medically necessary.</li><li>
Family Education: Provide clear, developmentally appropriate education regarding bowel function, toileting behaviors, hydration, and medication adherence.</li><li>
Psychosocial Support: Address the emotional and social aspects of chronic constipation, including toileting anxiety and school-related challenges.</li><li>

Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

As the Program Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of all academic and enrichment initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to the academic advancement of each student, ensuring they graduate at or above grade level in literacy and math.*Experience*Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience working in academic focused afterschool programs or teaching elementary-aged students in a classroom setting. Strong interpersonal skills with both adults and students are essential for success in this role. When these &ldquo;tables&rdquo; gather around the needs of schools, they make a BIG impact.</li></ul>*RESPONSIBILITIES*Facilitates youth programming to achieve the following outcomes for youth:<ul><li>Educational progress: Guides educationally at-risk youth to make quarterly strides toward their academic goals.</li><li>Social-emotional development: Helps children strengthen the skills and assets that support positive social-emotional growth.</li><li>Self-worth and agency: Cultivates a strong sense of self-worth and agency by valuing students' cultural and personal identities.</li></ul>Program Assistant Responsibilities:<ul><li>Coordinate with Site Director to create lesson plans tailored to each student.</li><li>Guide volunteers to provide high-impact tutoring.</li><li>Lead academic literacy activities, free choice/enrichment time, outdoor/physical activities and clean-up time.</li><li>Record, and maintain student academic progress.</li><li>Establish robust partnerships with teachers and staff at Daniel Bagley Elementary School, facilitating the exchange of curriculum and resources to effectively address and close academic gaps.</li><li>Oversee conflict resolution and behavioral issues with and between youth, with a focus on positive discipline, consistent consequences, restorative justice and the values of honesty, respect, safety, cooperation and responsibility.</li><li>Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, cooperate and be able to successfully communicate with the Site Director, co-workers, volunteers, participants, and other service providers.</li><li>Coordinate with Bethany Community Church and Daniel Bagley Family Support Worker to determine family needs and resources.</li><li>Purchase necessary program supplies and food for the program.</li></ul>Parent and Community Engagement:<ul><li>Build trusting relationships with parents and guardians; encourage them to be involved in the program when available.</li><li>Support quarterly Community Potluck Night that highlights student progress and cultural identity celebrations.</li></ul>Staff Hours:<ul><li>M,Tu,Th,F: 1:45 PM - 5:15 PM</li><li>W: 12:45 PM - 5:15 PM</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hourLicense/Certification:<ul><li>First Aid Certification (Preferred)</li><li>CPR Certification (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Seattle, WA 98103 (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Seattle, WA 98103: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
