Administers bronchopulmonary hygiene, suctioning, &amp; airway care procedures. Implements airway clearance techniques (to include Chest Physiotherapy, coughing/deep breathing techniques, Therapy Vest, Flutter valve, ExPap device, Acapella device, &amp; incentive spirometry) per physician order or under the guidelines of established and approved departmental patient care protocols. Documents such procedures into the EPIC electronic medical record appropriately and accurately per hospital policy.</li><li>
Initiates and maintains non-invasive ventilation (NIV) procedures (BIPAP, CPAP, High Flow Cannula) on an emergent and non-emergent basis; assess patient status and the status of NIV equipment and patient tolerance of such. Implements necessary adjustments to assure best level of patient comfort and tolerance to achieve most effective benefit of therapy. Documents procedures into the EPIC system as required.</li><li>
Initiates, maintains, and checks status (per department policy) of mechanical ventilation; provides for a thorough and complete patient assessment to recommend and implement weaning plans from mechanical ventilation either per physician order or under the guidelines of pre-approved and established departmental mechanical ventilator protocols. Documents such procedures accurately and in timely fashion into the EPIC electronic medical record.
</li><li>Provides for ventilator management (NIV and mechanical ventilation); appropriate hemodynamic monitoring/reporting of patient parameters (ventilator weaning parameters, spontaneous breathing trials, etc.). Documents information accurately and timely within the EPIC electronic medical record.</li><li>
Performs Arterial Blood Gas analysis per hospital, department, and accrediting agency guidelines and standards of practice. Trouble shoots ABG analyzers; performs appropriate quality control and general calibration procedures as appropriate. Reports results accurately and timely, within established results turnaround reporting guidelines.</li><li>

<b>POSITION SUMMARY</b><br>
We are seeking Behavioral Health Therapists for our clinic locations in Altgeld Gardens, Hegewisch, and Hammond. The Behavioral Health Therapist is a member of the interdisciplinary team and contributes to the comprehensive health care services offered by TCA Health. The Behavioral Health Therapist provides services to individuals, families, and groups to assist with improvement of social functioning and maximizing strengths. The Therapist interacts and interfaces with the community in diverse roles of advocacy and overall planning for service utilization. This position may be a regular full-time or a regular part-time employee. This position will be on-site.<br>

<b>Behavioral Health Therapist Responsibilities</b>
<ul><li>Perform bio-psychosocial assessments and diagnosis of behavioral health clients.</li>
<li>Provide effective treatment planning to assist clients in successfully achieving goals.</li>
<li>Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.</li>
<li>Assist in the detection of &ldquo;at risk&rdquo; patients and the development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.</li>
<li>Initiate treatment interventions in individual, family, and/or group counseling settings.</li>
<li>Effectively and clearly document client interactions and referrals in a timely manner as required.</li>
<li>Completes all necessary statistical reports and attend to accuracy.</li>
<li>Regularly participate in Behavioral Health Department, TCA Health Staff, and other meetings as assigned.</li>

<ul><li>Active Illinois License in good standing (LCSW or LCPC) for Altgeld Gardens and Hegewisch locations</li>
<li>Active Indiana License in good standing (LCSW, LCPC, or equivalent) if Hammond location is preferred</li>
<li>Master&rsquo;s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology</li>

</ul><p>As a Respiratory Therapist you are the backbone of the Therapy Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at <b>Warren Barr South Loop</b> by utilizing scientific and clinical principles for the identification, prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of acute or chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction, reviewing existing data, collecting additional data, and recommending to obtain data to evaluate the respiratory status of patients, developing the respiratory care plan, and determining the appropriateness of the prescribed therapy. Initiating, conducting, and modifying prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Documenting necessary information in the patient&rsquo;s medical record and communicating information to members of the health care team. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.</p>

As a minimum, an associate&rsquo;s degree from a CoARC-accredited educational institution, one of the following certifications: CRTT, CRT, RRT, CCT, must have BLS/ACLS certification and an unencumbered State of <b>Illinois</b> Respiratory Therapist License.
