Job Summary<br>
A RCP III is a Registered Respiratory Therapist who has been validated by successful completion of the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) requirements for professional RCP license by the Texas Medical Board and have minimum of 4 years of work experience in respiratory care.

An RCP III is an advanced respiratory therapist who actively role models the behaviors associated with the art and science of Respiratory Care. An RCP III mentors others (therapists, physicians, nurses) and creates an environment for the delivery of safe patient care by being recognized as an expert in various modalities of Respiratory Care. They assist others (therapists, physicians, nurses) in developing their skills and knowledge regarding various respiratory modalities.<br>

Job Summary and Qualifications</b></h5><p></p><p>
Under general supervision initiates, assesses, and evaluates all forms of respiratory therapy including bronchodilators, chest physical therapy, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive and invasive ventilator care. Exercises technical knowledge in respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathology as well as the design and operations of all respiratory therapy equipment. The RCP demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to neonates, infants, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.</p><p>
Position Requirements:</p><p>
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a staff position preferred.</p><p></p><p>
Education:</p><p>
Current permanent or temporary license issued by the Texas Department of Health to practice Respiratory Care. RRT/RCP</p><p></p><p>
Special Qualifications:</p><p>
Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population of the patients served.</p><p>
Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.</p><p>
Anyone assigned to PICU must maintain current PALS certification from the American Heart Association.</p><p>
Anyone assigned to NICU must maintain current NRP certification from the American Heart Association.</p><p>
