Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
The Respiratory Therapist Lead shall deliver competent and compassionate Respiratory Care services to patients of all age groups through the of use accepted Clinical Practice Guidelines for assessing, treating and documenting the effects of Respiratory Care provided to patients. The Respiratory Therapist Lead shall work cooperatively with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary staff, and other members of the patent care team utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to maintain standards for professional practices. Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment. The function of the Respiratory Therapist Lead shall be carried out according to departmental and hospital policies, HCA Medical Center&rsquo;s mission statement and Standards of Behavior guidelines<h6 class="jobSectionHeader">
What you will do in this role:</h6><ul><li>
 Evaluates staffing plan and workload, making necessary adjustments to ensure patient satisfaction and safe patient care.</li><li>
 Anticipates and identifies learning opportunities and knowledge gaps of department personnel, and coordinates appropriate educational activities in a positive and effective manner.</li><li>
Participates in planning, promoting, and conducting hospital wide and departmental quality monitoring and improvement activities.</li><li>
Ensures that all applicable laws, rules and regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards are met within the department.</li><li>
Actively involved in Joint Commission continuous readiness process throughout the hospital along with involvement in Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Risk Management, HAZSOFT, Corporate Compliance, Employee Health, Education and Safety</li></ul>
What qualifications you will need:<ul><li><h4 class="jobSectionHeader">
QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul><li>Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Practitioner program</li><li>Certified through the National Board for Respiratory Care</li><li>Current licensure by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner</li><li>Current BLS and ACLS certification required. NRP and PALS preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Respiratory Care staff position, with at least 2 years in critical care. Pediatrics and emergency room experience preferred.</li></ul></h4></li></ul>

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
Under general supervision initiates, assesses, and evaluates all forms of respiratory therapy including bronchodilators, chest physical therapy, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive and invasive ventilator care. Exercises technical knowledge in respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathology as well as the design and operations of all respiratory therapy equipment. The RCP demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to neonates, infants, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Position Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a staff position preferred.
Education:
Current permanent or temporary license issued by the Texas Department of Health to practice Respiratory Care. RRT/RCP
Special Qualifications:
Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population of the patients served.
Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
Anyone assigned to PICU must maintain current PALS certification from the American Heart Association.
Anyone assigned to NICU must maintain current NRP certification from the American Heart Association.
