KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Use independent judgement, knowledge, and expertise to perform pre-commissioning activities including system checkout, instrumentation calibration, loop checks, and communication testing.
</li><li>Test and perform tuning include machinery testing, control loop tuning and troubleshooting within the larger customer process.
</li><li>Read P&amp;ID&rsquo;s, Instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel layout drawings.
</li><li>Apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to effectively complete specific projects and tasks.

 Support central utility plants, HVAC systems, utility distribution networks, energy systems, and building automation controls.
 Investigate and resolve complex facility and infrastructure challenges through technical analysis and practical problem-solving.
 Develop long-term solutions that improve equipment reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
 
Drive Energy and Sustainability Initiatives
 
Identify opportunities to improve energy performance, reduce operating costs, and enhance system efficiency.
 Develop business cases and technical justifications for infrastructure upgrades and modernization projects.
 Partner with Energy Management and Central Plant teams to implement operational best practices and optimize system performance.
 Analyze utility and equipment performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
 
Support Capital Improvements and Engineering Projects
 
Provide technical expertise for facility infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
 Review designs, specifications, and engineering studies prepared by outside consultants and engineering firms.
 Collaborate with Facilities Services and Capital Projects teams to ensure solutions align with operational requirements and institutional standards.
 Provide field oversight during equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
 
Serve as a Technical Resource
 
Act as a key engineering liaison between Facilities Services, institutional leadership, researchers, clinicians, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
 Provide expert guidance regarding infrastructure capabilities, system limitations, and operational impacts.
 Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, equipment records, and technical standards.
 
Respond When It Matters Most
 
Lead and support engineering response efforts during critical equipment failures, utility interruptions, emergency events, and planned infrastructure shutdowns.
 Provide technical direction to operations personnel and contractors during emergency situations.

This role is focused on owning and optimizing the performance of complex building systems within a large academic medical environment.  Minimum Qualifications
 Bachelor's degree.
 Five years of relevant experience.
 Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) license. Out-of-state Professional Engineer license will be considered.
 Department-specific Requirements
 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
 Progressive engineering experience supporting complex facilities, institutional campuses, healthcare environments, research facilities, industrial plants, central utility plants, or other mission-critical infrastructure environments.
 Demonstrated experience with HVAC systems, central utility plants, mechanical infrastructure, energy systems, and facility operations.
 Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical system issues.
 Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
 Preferred Qualifications and Skills
 Experience in healthcare, research, higher education, pharmaceutical, utility, industrial, or mission-critical facilities environments.
 Experience with chilled water, steam, hot water, building automation, and central utility plant systems.
 Knowledge of asset management, reliability engineering, energy conservation, and infrastructure planning.
 Experience overseeing consultants, contractors, and engineering service providers.

We are seeking a highly specialized FTZ Support Engineer/Team Lead to serve as the primary FTZ Support Team Lead and Tier 2 escalation point for QAD FTZ software.
This is a critical &quot;player-coach&quot; role that bridges the gap between software troubleshooting and FTZ rules and regulations e. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain Support, you will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Customs compliance and the operational gatekeeper, coordinating with our Engineering team.. You will lead and upskill our FTZ Tier 1 support agents.
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Engineering Escalation Gatekeeper (Tier 2): Intercept and triage complex compliance tickets (e.g., ABI rejections, HTS logic errors, missing MPF calculations) to significantly reduce Engineering escalations. Translate CBP response codes into actionable data fixes for the customer rather than passing them to Development.</li><li>
FTZ Team Leadership &amp; Upskilling: Manage, mentor, and train our frontline FTZ Support Agents on all aspects of FTZ ICRS utilization. Develop playbooks to empower the team to resolve E214 admission and 7501 entry workflow confusion on the first touch, expanding overall team capacity.</li><li>
Product Management Liaison: Partner closely with FTZ Product and Engineering leadership as the internal SME. Provide real-world Customs and broker feedback to help shape the FTZ product roadmap, translating customer pain points into self-service tools and automation feature requests.</li><li>

Qualifications</h2></div><div><ul><li>
2+ years of direct experience in Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, preferably administering a zone using QAD FTZ software (Formerly SmartZone).</li><li>
Knowledge of how FTZ software interacts and relates to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and the Automated Broker Interface (ABI).</li><li>
Deep operational understanding and experience in processing FTZ transactions, from CBP Form 214 admissions through shipments from the Zone, including CBP Forms 7512, 3461, and 7501.</li><li>
Experience with understanding required reporting, CBP, and PGA interaction when operating an FTZ.</li></ul>
Technical &amp; SaaS Troubleshooting:<ul><li>
Strong understanding of how software, specifically FTZ software, uses integration to process transactions. The ability to troubleshoot and review integration files is a strong plus.</li></ul>
Leadership &amp; Soft Skills:<ul><li>
