The Facilities Management Division (FMD) is looking for a Supervisor I for the Building Operations Section (BOS). This position is responsible for performing the day-to-day administrative direction, operational management, and supervision of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled trade workers for a facility and/or work group. The ideal candidate for this position will be forward-thinking and able to blend with a very fun team!
WHO IS THE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION?
Through a workforce of over 300 dedicated employees, the FMD operates and manages the County's capital assets by developing and maintaining cost-conscious, sustainable, high-quality facilities, and environments.
The Building Operations Section (BOS) of FMD maintains approximately 3 million square feet in facilities where King County provides regional services, including the King County Courthouse, District Courts, Maleng Regional Justice Center, Clark Child Family Justice Center, King County Administration Building, King County Detention Facilities, King County Animal Shelter, and several Public Health Facilities. Our facilities range in age from 1 to 100 years, with equipment such as boilers, chillers, DDC controls, ventilation fans, pumps and compressors, and fire/life/safety systems.

<div>WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO HAVE:<ul><li>
Demonstrated supervisory experience managing staff involved in facility maintenance and building operations.</li><li>
Experience in developing and/or implementing safety programs, including demonstrated knowledge of Washington State or similar workplace safety laws and policies.</li><li>
Knowledge and skill in construction/maintenance cost estimating and experience in service level implementation and project contracting required.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience planning, scheduling, utilizing and coordinating a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers, and support staff to maintain a facility or other public works related infrastructure.</li><li>
Experience in developing or implementing training programs and processes used in building or public works management operations to include the development of Preventive Maintenance and work order programs, etc.</li><li>
Experience in making accurate decisions in emergency situations.</li><li>
Intermediate ability in operating computers and software programs including Microsoft suite and Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.</li><li>
Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing with employees, peers, customers, and union representatives.</li><li>
