BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Video Editor is a critical role on a small, senior team at Magnificent Noise. This is a part-time position (15&ndash;20 hours per week) with flexible work hours and a hybrid structure&mdash;primarily remote, with occasional on-site work as projects require.
The Video Editor will be the primary editor shaping video expressions of our audio-led projects, ensuring that all visual work meets our editorial ambitions and aesthetic standards.
The role requires not only strong technical editing skills, but a creative and inclusive approach to storytelling. The ideal candidate understands how to translate long-form audio conversations into compelling visual narratives and has a proven track record of producing high-quality work under deadline in a collaborative environment.
This is not a high-volume social media production role. It is a craft role for someone who values judgment, pacing, and intention.
Top candidates for this role will demonstrate curiosity, a strong work ethic, exceptional journalistic and storytelling instincts, and exercise creativity in their production technique. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Collaborate with producers and editors during editorial planning to advise on video capture, framing, and coverage needs.</li><li>
Edit full-length video podcasts, interviews, and conversations, ensuring pacing, tone, and clarity align with editorial goals.</li><li>
Shape short-form video excerpts and promotional cutdowns that grow naturally out of long-form audio work.</li><li>
Establish and maintain consistent visual standards across projects and partners.</li><li>
Ensure audio-video sync, basic color correction, and overall technical polish meet Magnificent Noise standards.</li><li>
Think beyond execution to help determine what should become video&mdash;and how.</li><li>

LOCATION
Our preference for this position is for someone from the greater New York area working in our Manhattan office 1 or 2 days a week, but will consider a fully-remote employee with exceptional skill.
Pay rate is $65-85 per hour, average of 20 hours per week.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES<ul><li>

<div>About the Role &amp; Program:
The ABC News Digital group is the comprehensive, 24/7 online news division of ABC News, delivering real-time updates, exclusive reporting, and video content across abcnews.com, mobile apps, and streaming platforms. It offers on-demand, breaking news coverage, including Good Morning America and ABC News Live, reaching millions monthly with digital-first journalism.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player with experience in video editing and a working knowledge of weaving together visuals to create compelling video content. You will be encouraged to be hands-on, and your responsibilities will increase as you learn throughout the internship.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in New York City from June 2026-January 2027 and will report to Senior Digital Video Producer .
What You Will Do:<ul><li>
Support the production tasks of the team, including video editing and writing metadata to be paired with published content</li><li>
Reformat existing video content for delivery to ABC News Digital&rsquo;s platforms and our partners</li><li>
Collaborate with newsgathering and ABC News Digital&rsquo;s seniors, as well as the various teams we work with for photos and graphics, as well as our platforms and social teams.</li></ul>
Required Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>
Experience with Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere for non-linear editing</li><li>
Experience using Microsoft Office, including Teams and Outlook</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities</li><li>
Experience working in collaborative environments and managing multiple projects</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>
Experience with Adobe After Effects</li><li>
Experience with web publishing</li></ul>
Education:<ul><li>
Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Film, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television, or a related field</li><li>
Junior or Senior year preferred</li></ul>
Eligibility Requirements &amp; Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:<ul><li>
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.</li><li>
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.</li><li>
Be at least 18 years of age</li><li>
Possess unrestricted work authorization</li></ul>

Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship</li><li>
Fully available from June 2026 through January 2027</li><li>
Fully available from Monday through Friday, for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week</li><li>
