The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Neonatal Physician Assistant works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team and is responsible for providing comprehensive and age appropriate care to both well and/or ill patients. The patient population consists of critically ill patients that have undergone cardiac surgical interventions including, but not limited to, coronary artery bypass, valve replacements and repairs, Type A aortic dissections, heart or lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support device implantation including LVAD/RVAD (Heartmate&copy; II or III, Heartware, Centrimag), and ECMO (veno-venous and veno-arterial).
